When trends collide: LED drumsticks

Regular readers of this space may know that we've developed a mild fascination with drums, especially those of the digital variety. We've also come to realize that we have something of an obsession with LEDs. (Clearly, some of us at Crave don't lead very interesting lives.)

But in our unfailing devotion to report all trends, especially when they converge, we feel obligated to pass this item along: Behold the LED drumsticks. While musicians interviewed by Popgadget appreciated the blue glow of their tips, they unfortunately expressed doubt over the sticks' ability to perform in "heavy hitting&… Read more

This watch is telling you that it's 5 AM and time to leave the party

A couple of us Cravers love to highlight the brightest, flashiest, and most obnoxious in raver chic gadgetry, from ice cream trucks to keyboards. Here's another one for you, as seen on Technabob. These straight-outta-Japan watches from ODM Design have an "electroluminescent display that wraps around the curvature of the watch band." Apparently U.S. residents can find them on eBay for between $80 and $90. They feature "hot lights, funky beats, and high end ice cream served in slick Chinese take out boxes." The blinged-out vans sure do look cool, and I bet they serve some pretty neat flavors (You think they'd have Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream?) On the other … Read more

Turn your keyboard into a disco

Now this is what we call a multi-colored keyboard. Other manufacturers have attempted to bring color to our fingertips, but the "Luxeed" from South Korea's Luxiium Lighting and Technology takes the concept to an entirely new level.

The ever-vigilant Chip Chick reports that each key can be personalized with one of 512 colors, "be it a single hue, a spectrum rainbow or your very own creation" downloaded from the company's Web site. The colors can even be programmed to change with the beat of your music, turning your desktop into a mini-disco. Brilliant!
