Politwoops publishes all politicians' deleted tweets

Ever wanted to know the deleted tweets of President Obama, Republican nominee Mitt Romney, or even your local congressperson? Well, a new site called Politwoops launched today that aims to collect and preserve all of those tweets.

"From minor typos to major gaffes, Politwoops is now there to offer a searchable window into what they hoped you didn't see," Nicko Margolies, communications coordinator at the Sunlight Foundation, which created Politwoops, wrote in a blog post.

I can has LOLpoliticians?

When I wrote this morning about an LOLcat contest in which Icanhascheezburger.com users would be contending to create one of five bottle labels for a soda company, I mused that it would also be nice to have a politics-LOLcat mashup.

Wait no more. In fact, even as I wrote it, the nice folks at Icanhascheezburger hopped in their time machine, went back 24 hours, and launched the exact site I wanted yesterday.

Well, OK, maybe there was no metaphysics involved. But either way, on Monday, Icanhascheezburger launched Pundit Kitchen, a site for LOLcats, except with politicians.

The threat of political phishing

Later today, I will be presenting as part of a panel on the subject of political phishing at the Anti-Phishing Working Group eCrime Researchers Summit.

During the panel discussion, I will be speaking about the threats to the online fundraising model used by political candidates in the United States.
