INNO's latest MP3 player hangs by a thread

The last time we heard from South Korea-based INNO it was launching a pink "Barbie" MP3 player that looked a lot like an old-fashioned makeup compact. The company has apparently gone beyond that phase, thankfully, but it apparently is set on making some kind of fashion statement anyway.

The INNO B0 is meant to be worn as a pendant, acccording to Newlaunches, available in such designer hues as "cacao black." But the pattern sacrifices other basic features in this coin-sized 1GB player, such as a display. That makes it pretty pricey at $60, even with the … Read more

Pendant doesn't do iPod justice

Last summer, GeekSugar showed off a few nifty design proposals for some iPhone jewelry, which were then followed by a concept for an "iRing" that would actually function as well as adorn. As much as we lauded those efforts, we should point out that there's a limit to our appreciation for Apple love. Case in point: an mini-iPod pendant.

For one thing, if you're a true iPod devotee, wouldn't you always have a real one on your person anyway? And $100 seems kind of steep for an enamel charm with sterling silver and gold plating, … Read more

A video player as jewelry, sort of

It's a funny thing: Jewelry that pays homage to technology can work just fine, but it seems to make less sense when it actually functions. Why, for example, would one need to carry a computer peripheral around one's neck?

Case in point: The oval-shaped video MP3 player from X-Micro, which is designed to be worn as a pendant. As Chip Chick rightly points out, watching videos chained to the neck doesn't seem like an optimum viewing experience, especially on a screen that's so small. Nor does it look quite like anything under glass at Tiffany's.… Read more

Puddle Pendant Lamp

It's a foggy grey not quite drizzly day here today, and i just came across this Puddle Pendant Lamp at Crate and Barrel's younger store CB2. And at a low $40 price tag, they aren't kidding when they say its "priced to hang in multiples". Size? 13.25"dia.x9"H ~ and you can see an image of it in context below. They describe it as a "sleek fluid teardrop of handmade iron glossed brite white." Gorgeous isn't it?
