Game of Drones: Where UAVs meet paintball

Mucking around with monarchical politics and swords is all well and good, but a remote-controlled toy drone involves around 98 percent less decapitation and at least 54 percent more fun. At least we assume that's part of the reasoning behind Game of Drones, a collective of artists, inventors, robot builders, video producers, and designers who modify drones for a bit of friendly competition.

In the past, the team has created an "unbreakable drone" and a teeny-tiny drone fitted with a rocket launcher. But the most recent drone allows its pilot to play paintball -- via remote control. … Read more

The art of (paintball) war

Not only does it subdue the enemy just like full-size armored vehicles, but this mini-tank will also fit in the garage without sacrificing key features, such as an engine firefall, rollover bar and roll cage, according to BornRich.

It also resembles the real thing and can be customized in your … Read more

When guns are for sissies: Paintball in tanks

In a controlled environment, shooting things can be kind of fun. After all, I had an awesome time a few weeks ago trying to learn the ropes of Big Buck Hunter Pro. (Emphasis on "trying.") Clay shooting is great, too. And the one time I went paintballing, I enjoyed it quite a bit despite the fact that I was quickly disqualified for accidentally shooting some kid in the ear.

I've got to say, though, that I was pretty surprised to read that British paintballers are adding tanks to the mix. Isn't running around in a vulnerable … Read more
