Time Machine running slow after OS X 10.7.5 update

After installing the latest OS X 10.7.5 update for Lion, a number of users are finding their Time Machine backups are taking forever to complete. Adobe provides fix for InDesign crashes on new MacBooks

Recently a number of Mac users of Adobe's InDesign software found that after upgrading to Apple's new MacBook Pro systems, the software would crash and show an empty warning box after performing certain actions within the program. Adobe has addressed this problem in part by releasing a small software patch for InDesign, but also by recommending against certain OS X updates.

Adobe InDesign is crashing on new MacBooks

A number of Adobe users who have purchased one of Apple's latest MacBook systems have been experiencing crashes of Adobe's InDesign layout software.

Yesterday, AppleInsider reported that a number of users had been complaining on the Adobe discussion boards about InDesign becoming unresponsive (for some displaying an empty warning dialog box) and requiring users to force-quit the program. This happens when performing several different tasks, including after deleting a page that has content on it and when packaging a file.

OS X 10.7.3 hits, promises to smash bugs, add new languages

Apple released OS X 10.7.3 Lion today, the third such minor update to the operating system since it was launched last July.

The update, which went out to Lion users earlier this afternoon, includes an update to Safari, bringing the built-in browser up to version 5.1.3. System-wide, the update promises to fix bugs and add new languages, including Greek, Hebrew, Thai and Catalan, among others. It also fixes bugs with authenticating with directory services and what Apple says were "compatibility issues" with Windows file sharing.

Microsoft's Lync for Mac crashes after 10.7.2 update

If you use Microsoft's Lync enterprise messaging and conferencing tool, you may experience crashes with the program if you update your Mac to OS X 10.7.2.

Microsoft is reporting on its Office for Mac blog that OS X 10.7.2 contains some invalid certificates that result in a conflict with its enterprise messaging program that is causing the crashes.

After months of testing and weeks of beta developer builds being issued, Apple has finally released the much-anticipated OS X 10.7.2 update for its latest Lion operating system. OS X 10.7.2 release likely in the next 8 days

Apple has issued yet another developer release of its upcoming OS 10.7.2 update; however, unlike previous versions this latest build has been dubbed "Golden Master," which means that unless any major bugs or flaws are found in this latest bout of testing, then this build will be issued to the public. Apple's development of the upcoming 10.7.2 release is progressing, with another beta build being released for testing today. As we have been mentioning regarding previous developer releases, the update will contain support for Apple's new iCloud services, which seem to be the focus of these testing efforts. Apple releases new developer builds of OS X 10.7.2 and iCloud

As part of its testing of new software revisions, Apple has a developer seed program in which it provides beta builds of its operating system and applications to developers to get feedback and root out bugs before releasing the products to the public. Given the transition to iCloud from MobileMe that is slated to come next month, Apple has been actively testing both iCloud itself and other software that will be interfacing with the online service, including iPhoto and OS X.
