Review: Memorex Travel Speaker

In a market overflowing with iPod accessories, manufacturers have to rise to the challenge of making their products stand out from the crowd. This is particularly true for portable speakers, which can be found in abundance across the Web. The latest from Memorex, dubbed simply a Foldable Travel Speaker, isn't much of a standout offering. But its affordable price ($59.99), relatively compact size, and simple aesthetic will certainly appeal to some. Sound quality, however, fails to impress.

Touch screens are all the rage, gracing everything from cell phones to roulette tables. Trouble is, when you hear the words "touch screen" the dollar signs immediately start rolling in your head.

Memorex unveils a $200 Profile 2.0 Blu-ray player

Blu-ray ran into plenty of consumer confusion regarding the differing Blu-ray profiles, but the good news is that almost all (excluding a few Philips players) of the new players we saw announced at CES 2009 are Profile 2.0 compatible. Memorex's new MVBD-2520 doesn't have any of the extra bells and whistles seen on LG's BD390 or Samsung's BD-P4600, but it does look to have the minimum specs to be a solid budget player. Memorex may not be the most exciting brand on the block, but it's got a surprising amount of affordable, solid-looking products showcased at CES 2009. Memorex unveils $99 touch MP3 player

If you're jonesing for a touch-screen MP3 player, but the usual suspects are beyond your budget, the new $99 TouchMP player from Memorex may be just the thing. The 8GB MP3 player also supports WMA and WAV audio playback and boasts a 2.8-inch QVGA display, FM radio, voice recorder, video player (WMV, MPEG-4, AVI in MP4 format), Audible audiobook and podcast support, and a microSD expansion slot.
