The official "Ghostbusters" Lego set that came to life through Lego Cuusoo was unveiled over the weekend at Toy Fair New York, and will be arriving right in time for the film's 30th anniversary on June 7 this year.
The set will be released sometime in June -- Lego didn't give an exact date -- and features the Ecto-1 ambulance-hearse Cadillac and all four members of the Ghostbusters team with their proton packs.… Read more
Rejoice, all you children of the '80s, all you Bill Murray fans, all you who have sewn deep into the night to create a "Ghostbusters" jumpsuit costume. The bigwigs at Lego are smiling down on you, and giving you an offering in the form of greenlighting a fan-designed "Ghostbusters" set.
Lego tinkerer Brent Waller put together a model for a "Ghostbusters" set in honor of the film's 30th anniversary this year. He built minifigs, the Ectomobile, and the ghost hunters' headquarters building. He really nailed Bill Murray's hairline for the minifig. The project went up for vote on Lego's fan site CUUSOO, where it gained 10,000 supporters, enough to get Lego to look at making it official, which it did.… Read more
Get ready to envy the heck out of this. The same cool geek parents who brought us this classic Marty McFly and push-car DeLorean last year are the proud sponsors of a Ghostbusters-themed costume and car for Halloween 2013.
Cooper, who has definitely gotten bigger since the last time we saw him, is trading out his red McFly vest for a full-on "Ghostbusters" outfit complete with an Ecto-Blaster backpack. The push-car modifications also have ramped up in difficulty, but his creative engineer parents, Cory and Jeremy Newton-Smith, were up to the task.… Read more

It seems as if each week, another little tale of Steve Jobs' wise and wicked ways and words emerges.
Just a few days ago, audio was aired in which the Apple co-founder compared his company in the bad times to Jeffrey Dahmer. (I have embedded the evidence.)
The quote, published in Fast Company, was: "Imagine if you're the mother of, you know, some bad kid...You're Jeffrey Dahmer's mother. Or you're the mother of some kid who's turned into a robber ... robbed banks or something, been to jail. I don't equate Apple with … Read more
CNET's Steve Guttenberg goes by a couple nicknames like "The Gutman," "The Audiophiliac," and "Sphere," but today we'll hear from the more tender side of our favorite audiophile as he tells us the story of how his life changed on this day back in 1972.
After he accepts our challenge to explain leap year in three sentences or less, he'll tell us why he can't stop laughing when hears the phrase "Mastered for iTunes," and we're both surprised to hear that he has a special thank-you message for Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre, and Monster Headphones.… Read more
It's not every day that The 404 is lucky enough to have one big name celebrity guest on the show, much less two in one episode! We've been waiting all week to chat with Eliza Dushku about her official duties as the official Entertainment Matters Ambassador for CES 2012, which sounds like a fun job!
She's been here hosting parties and covering the show all week, so we'll talk to her about the next wave of 3D televisions and her voice acting work in games like Fight Night Champion and WET, but we'd be doing our listeners and nerds everywhere a disservice if we didn't ask her about her involvement in role in Ghostbusters 3!… Read more
To help us out today, Jeff and I invite our buddy Russ Frushtick aka The Fishstick into the studio to chat nostalgic about Jurassic Park, True Lies, and Ghostbusters!… Read more
