Latest Batman: Arkham City trailer shows off gameplay

The first Batman: Arkham City trailer featuring actual gameplay just debuted for mass public consumption and we can't stop replaying it. Arkham City is the follow-up to Arkham Asylum, which many critics called one of the best games of 2009 and a shoe-in as the best Batman video game ever made.

Easily earning a spot in our 40 most anticipated games of 2011, Arkham City ventures out of the prison walls and into the streets where players will need to navigate the Dark Knight through an area of Gotham City that has been sectioned off to house the inmates.

Back in Arkham City are the combat and stealth mechanics we fell in love with the first time around, as well as more of a focus on puzzle and exploration elements.

Unfortunately those eager to get their hands on the game will have to wait until October 18, when Batman: Arkham City is set to release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. It's not all bad news, though; make sure to watch the trailer all the way through for a message from a "friendly" face.… Read more

One of the most daunting tasks in video archiving is getting the footage digitized and transferred to an easily accessible storage device. This is especially tiresome and tedious if the original is in tape format.

For this reason, I am impressed with the Video Transfer from Pinnacle.

About the size and weight of a cigarette pack, this little device is capable of converting analog videos from any source into MPEG-4-quality video files and saving them to any USB 2.0 storage device, including thumb drives, without the need for a PC. You can also choose to convert video footage directly … Read more

Sony's VRD-MC10: DVD movies straight from your Handycam

This story has been corrected. The VRD-MC10 will not replace the existing VRD-MC5 model, as stated in a previous version of this blog. Both models will co-exist.

Sony Japan will "soon" release its all-new VRD-MC10 DVD recorder, a device that allows for playing and recording video footage from Handycam camcorders and other sources directly onto a DVD without using a computer.

The VRD-MC10 DVD is a step above Sony's Handycam-to-DVD VRD-MC5 recorder series, which does the same but with limited support for other sources and functionality.

The VRD-MC10 extends its support to more sources, including CompactFlash, Memory … Read more
