LAS VEGAS--Fisher-Price is coming out with a portable DVR that even a 3-year-old can operate. In fact, that's entirely the point.

Tonight at Pepcom Digital Experience the toy maker showed off its upcoming portable DVR players called Kid Tough, designed for kids 3 to 5. Tank warfare, LED basketball, Fisher-Price, and more: New iPhone games of the week

Though it might seem otherwise just now, there's more to life than college basketball. Oh, who am I kidding? No, there's not. But you need something to keep you busy during those endless Southwest Airlines commercials, right?

With that in mind, here's this week's batch of new games for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and, soon enough, iPad.

1. Fisher-Price games Not all games are for grown-ups. Fisher-Price's App Store debut includes three titles for the toddler set: Chatter Telephone (99 cents), Little People Farm ($1.99), and See 'n Say ($1.99). I must admit I have mixed feelings about substituting an electronic screen for actual tactile toys--but if these apps can buy you a five-minute break from screaming, then I say, let 'em tap!

2. Frogman Look! Crossing the street! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's...Frogman! This Frogger-inspired, superhero-themed slice of 3D awesomeness isn't in the App Store just yet, but it's due "very soon"--and when you get a peek at the promo video, you'll understand why I can't wait. Somewhere in between the old-school book-and-record sets (where you turned the page at the sound of the tone) and audiobooks, there was the mighty Fisher-Price Talk-To-Me Player.

I dusted mine off recently after finding it in one of the many boxes of toys I have yet to divest myself of and gave it a closer look.

Toy makers have made good progress in robots and pretty much anything with a remote, but they've never quite been able to figure out computers for tots. Usually they're just toy laptops with lame black-and-white screens that are barely legible, making them kind of like fancy Etch A Sketches with some flashing lights and a mouse.

Binocular-camera takes photos in 3D

For some reason we seem to be given to nostalgic references today, so we beg your indulgence. This item, for example, reminds us of the 3D-slide "View-Master" we had when we were kids.

The "StereoVision 3D VuCam" is slightly more sophisticated than what Fisher-Price had to offer. This gadget combines binocular lenses with two 3.1-megapixel cameras to take 3D photos, according to Gearfuse. You can even magnify the image first, previewing it on a pop-up LCD screen before shooting.
