FeltAudio debuts clip-on Bluetooth speaker and earbuds

If you're always losing your Bluetooth headphones or speakers, FeltAudio's products could be for you. The FeltAudio Pulse is a tiny Bluetooth speaker that can be clipped on to a shirt pocket or belt, while the Rewind is a pair of in-ear headphones with a retractable cable.

The Pulse speaker works quite simply. You pair it with your handset and clip it on to some part of your clothing. When you're not using the speaker (or if you want the speaker playing back audio while attached to your phone), you can clip it to special Felt cases -- these are lined on the insides with actual felt -- which will be available for the iPhone 5 as well as iPad. The company is working on versions for iPad Mini and new iPod Touch. … Read more

Dalek and Tardis felt purses won't exterminate each other

There have been rumors running around for a while that the next Doctor Who could be a woman. If that's the case, I would recommend accessorizing her with a Dalek or Tardis felt purse.

Etsy seller Krukrustudio uses felt purses and bags as a creative outlet. The purses are crafted in detail from natural felt with linings and zipper openings. These are no mere change purses. The $190 Dalek purse stands over 9 inches high while the $180 Tardis is nearly a foot tall. For $140, you can pick up a slimmer Tardis bag that will hold a 14-inch laptop.… Read more

Power Felt could one day run iPod from body heat

Materials scientists have spun together carbon nanotubes into a fabric that promises a versatile and inexpensive way to transform heat into usable electricity.

Researchers at Wake Forest's Center for Nanotechnology and Molecular Materials announced yesterday the creation of a thermoelectric device they say could open up new energy-harvesting applications.

The university is seeking to find investors to commercialize the technology, called Power Felt. If successfully developed further, it has the potential to use body heat from clothing to power an iPod or cell phone or power medical monitoring equipment from a wound wrap. Its makers also hope Power Felt … Read more

Felt mouse prototype makes computing crafty

If you're a fan of odd computer peripherals, this mouse should be right up your alley. Created by American designer Joey Roth, the felt mouse is a two-button optical mouse with a (barely visible) scroll wheel.

This quirky prototype device is slated to be exhibited at the American Design Club's Use Me show. The art exhibition aims to feature artistic designs that "exhibit a strong sense of purpose, intelligent use of materials and the ability to do one thing extremely well."

While we're not sure how comfortable a mouse made of felt might be, we hope nobody leaves it lying next to a whiteboard.

Been a lot of wine goodies popping up over at NOTCOT and TasteSpotting the last week or so, and with all the summer pot lucks and parties on the rise, how you present that bottle of wine can be key! So here are a few greener and more gorgeous ways to tote them around.
