Details and a pair of computer-animated videos of the upcoming 2014 Hyundai Equus (known in some world markets and referred to in the videos as the Centennial) have found their way onto the Web ahead of the Korean flagship's debut a the 2013 New York auto show later this month.

The 2014 Equus features a visual refresh that, with its reshaped front end, gently whispers "Mercedes-Benz S-Class," thanks to more wedge-shaped headlamps that are now available with full-LED adaptive front lighting. 2011 Hyundai Equus is earns top safety award

Hyundai's flagship model, the 2011 Hyundai Equus, just received a "Top Safety Pick" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The $58,000 luxury sedan rated "Good" in all crash protection safety categories including front, side, rollover, and rear.

The Equus features the Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, which governs the Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the electronic parking brake, smart cruise control, the collision-warning sensor, and the seat belt tensioning system.

Hyundai demos Equus' owner's manual iPad app

When Hyundai debuted its line-topping Equus, the automaker also made the grand claim that it would be ditching the luxury sedan's paper owner's manuals in favor of a 16GB Wi-Fi Apple iPad and an app. We've already taken the Equus for a test-drive, and now prospective buyers can test-drive the Hyundai Equus iPad Owner Experience app, which is available for download in the iTunes App Store.
