The show averaged a total of 17,000 tweets per minute and proved Twitter-worthy around the world. A hefty 58 percent of all tweets about the event came from outside the US, according to Twitter data editor Simon Rogers.
Carrie Underwood's performance of "Yesterday" saw the highest number of tweets per minute at 17,090. The end of Elton John's performance came in second with 13,720 tweets per minute.
