Motorola goes for the gold (and diamonds)

Peter Aloisson had a hard act to follow: himself. After all, it's not every day that a designer is so inspired to come up with something like the "Diamond Crypto Smartphone," which went for a cool $1.3 million.

So rather than try to exceed his already-over-the-top standard, he apparently has decided to go for a broader market with the Motorola V3i "Stainless Steel Gold" handset. After we posted the (faux) diamond-clad Mercedes last weekend, we were shocked to hear that some people thought it was a tad gaudy. So those seeking a more muted statement might find this more to their liking: a BMW covered in chrome.
