Pew Pew Land is a cartoony tower-defense game with fairly conventional gameplay but cool two-player capabilities over Bluetooth.

Fans of the tower-defense genre will quickly pick up Pew Pew Land's touch-screen interface and fast-paced tactics: you have to defeat a fixed number of enemy waves on each level, strategically placing a variety of upgradable towers (eight types in all, from simple shooters to rockets and lasers) along a fixed path with an entrance and exit. With the near ubiquitous nature of broadband-enabled video game consoles, we've seen an increase in games that are intended primarily for online cooperative play. Games such as Left 4 Dead and the new Borderlands have basic single-player functionality, but are clearly intended for multiplayer sessions with friends.

'Resident Evil 5' is finally on display at E3 2008. After the blockbuster 'Resident Evil 4,' Capcom is back with a new terrifying tale of an African village during a bioterrorism scare. Now offering online co-op as a major feature of the title, 'Resident Evil 5' looks to appeal to loyal fans of the franchise as well as attract new gamers to the horror genre. 'Resident Evil 5' will ship March 13, 2009, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The Coop brings social networking to Firefox

The Mozilla Foundation's Labs has launched The Coop, a project that will let people keep track of their friend's online activities. The add-on will create a row or column of friends' photos. When a photo glows, the user can see that a friends has a new link, photo, blog, or video to share from content-sharing services such as del.icio.us and Flickr. The project planners envision using RSS or another mechanism to move the data between people's browsers. For more information, check out this News.com article.
