AT&T is finally providing its no-contract customers with a break on its plans.
The company said Thursday that it is tweaking its mobile share plans, changing around various parts to give customers a break. The savings apply to customers who pay full price for their phone, bring a compatible phone to the network, or participate in its monthly installment plan, AT&T Next. Apple's carrier partnerships in France are going under the microscope, according to a new report.
An administrative watchdog called the DGCCRF, which operates in France's Finance Ministry, is investigating the clauses Apple enforces in its contracts with wireless carriers, reports out of France on Wednesday claim. According to Reuters, the body is specifically focusing on Apple's requirements related to sales volume, advertising, and commissions to a respective carrier's salespeople.

CBS and Time Warner Cable have reached a content carriage agreement, ending a month-long blackout that cut off millions of the cable giant's subscribers from the network's programming.
CBS, which owns CNET, said in a statement that it expects its programming to resume on Time Warner systems in New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas by 3 p.m. PT Monday. Terms of the deal were not revealed.

T-Mobile returned to subscriber growth for the first time in more than two years.
The company revealed Wednesday that it added a net 1.1 million customers in the second quarter, with 688,000 (685,000 coming from phone customers) coming from its post-paid, or customers with a higher credit rating score that pay at the end of each month. That's the highest rate of growth among all of the national carriers this period. It added another 8.9 million customers from its acquisition of MetroPCS.

Samsung is reportedly close to completing its first deals to supply devices to U.S. government agencies since winning Pentagon security approval earlier this year.
The South Korean electronics giant is negotiating a large deal for its devices with the FBI and a smaller one with the Navy, people familiar with the matter tell The Wall Street Journal. With the deals, Samsung is going after a business long dominated by BlackBerry.
