Paul Ceglia's lawsuit claiming a half ownership in Facebook may be nearing an end after a federal magistrate recommended today that it be dismissed.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Leslie G. Foschio in Buffalo, N.Y., said today there is clear evidence that the 2003 contract under which Ceglia claims a half interest in the social-networking giant was a "recently created fabrication" and recommended that the case be dismissed by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Ceglia ordered to pay Facebook $90,000 in legal fees

In an effort to make billions of dollars by suing Facebook, Paul Ceglia is actually putting a large dent in his own wallet.

Federal Magistrate Leslie Foschio ordered Ceglia to pay the social network almost $90,000 in attorney fees today, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The order comes because of Ceglia's last-minute cancellation of legal depositions that Facebook had already paid its lawyers to do. Foschio also ordered Ceglia to reimburse an additional $7,000 in travel and lodging expenses for the social network's experts that were to be deposed.

Ceglia fights to keep lawyer trying to quit lawsuit against Facebook

Paul Ceglia has chased away his lawyers before and now another one is begging to get off the case. But, Ceglia doesn't want to let him go.

Ceglia, who is suing Facebook with the claim that he owns half of the social network, is up to his neck in legal woes. But, his lawyer Dean Boland, has said he can no longer represent Ceglia because of threats he's received, according to the Associated Press.

Boland has filed a motion to withdraw from the lawsuit but Ceglia has opposed the motion.

As if Paul Ceglia doesn't have enough problems.

Now the man claiming to own half of Facebook -- who last month was arrested on fraud charges for allegedly fabricating evidence in the case -- might end up paying part of Facebook's attorneys fees.

Ceglia, who was released from jail today after posting a $250,000 bond, is continuing to fight his civil lawsuit against Facebook and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.

As if Paul Ceglia, the man claiming to own half of Facebook who was arrested on fraud charges last week, didn't have enough trouble, his civil lawsuit against the social-networking company ran aground this week.

Feds charge Paul Ceglia with defrauding Facebook

The man who claimed ownership of half of Facebook is now in federal custody. Paul Ceglia was charged today in New York with single counts of mail and wire fraud. The maximum prison sentence for each count is 20 years.

Ceglia become known for his suit against Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg claiming that he was entitled to a 50 percent stake in the company. The charges against him filed by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan state that he falsified records and destroyed evidence in a multibillion-dollar scheme to defraud both Facebook and Zuckerberg.

Feds arrest Paul Ceglia for alleged multibillion-dollar fraud against Facebook

The feds have arrested and charged Paul Ceglia, the man who claims he owns half of Facebook, with mail and wire fraud for allegedly doctoring a contract and creating fake emails in an attempt to cheat Facebook and CEO Mark Zuckerberg out of billions of dollars, a U.S. district attorney revealed today.

He faces up to 40 years in prison for the two charges, which relate to Ceglia using the U.S. Postal Service and email to transmit the materials, according to the complaint (see below).

A federal judge has ordered Paul Ceglia, the man who claims he's entitled to half ownership of Facebook, to produce a letter that appears to support the social network's claim that his alleged contract is a fabrication.

The judge hearing pretrial motions in Paul Ceglia's lawsuit against Facebook suspects the man suing for half of the social-networking giant is trying to stall the legal proceedings and has suggested that further sanctions might be necessary as a result.

Paul Ceglia, the guy who in 2003 commissioned Mark Zuckerberg to work on a Web site that he says now entitles him to 50 percent of Facebook, is fighting back in response to Facebook's request to get the case thrown out of court.
