Family-owned Dacor showed off its new line of appliances recently at the 2009 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Atlanta. Among the appliances on display was the Energy Star qualified Epicure 36-inch Freestanding French Door Cabinet-Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. The refrigerator saves time and energy with a 20-percent energy efficient compressor, and is stated to use less energy than a 60-watt light bulb.

Multimedia cabinet or wine rack?

Now this is what we call a home theater cabinet. Furniture with built-in speakers and other media equipment is nothing new, but this ultra-limited-edition (and curiously named) "Stringless Pleasure" stereo rack--created by architect Chi-wing Lo, according to Dvice--takes the concept to an entirely new level. Why? Not only does it have high-end gear built into its shelves, but the system also has plenty of storage space for discs and other media--which we think could just as easily be used a wine rack.

A shopping cart for your TV

It's nice to see that some things never change. In the old days, when many households had only one television set (horrors), it wasn't uncommon to keep it on a cart to be wheeled from room to room as needed.
