Apple CEO apologizes to China over warranties, offers fixes

Following weeks of scrutiny over its warranty policies in China, Apple now says it has improved services in the region.

That message came from the top, in an apology note from Apple CEO Tim Cook, posted in Chinese on Apple's Chinese site today.

In it, Cook apologized for a lack of communication on the matter, and said that the company is implementing improvements in three areas of its warranty policy and related services.

Apple quietly pulls apology-hiding code from U.K. site

Less than a week after Apple was rumbled by Reddit users for including code to hide a court-ordered apology to Samsung on its U.K. Web site, the code has now been removed.

The code forced visitors to scroll down the page in order to see an apology that Apple was ordered to display on its U.K. Web site for one month, by resizing the central image of the new iPad mini and "sticking" four separate product advertisements at the bottom of the browser window.

U.K. court to Apple: Nix those 'untrue' anti-Samsung claims

Apple has been ordered by the U.K. Court of Appeal in London to remove an "untrue" and "incorrect" statement about Samsung from its U.K. Web site, in which the iPad maker continued to insist that Samsung did indeed copy Apple's products.

The statement, which can be found on Apple's U.K. Web site at the bottom of the page, riled U.K. appeal judges sufficiently to force Apple to remove the statement within 24 hours, reports Bloomberg.

Apple CEO says sorry for iOS 6 map mess

Apple CEO Tim Cook has said he was "extremely sorry" for the frustration felt by customers over the problems with iOS6 maps and vowed Apple will improve the new map program. Apple CEO Tim Cook took the most drastic step yet to address the growing furor over the company's beleaguered map application, saying he was "extremely sorry" for the frustration felt by customers and vowing to improve the program.

Path's Dave Morin: No, really, I don't lie about this stuff

Gawker published this evening an apparently damning story to further the day's drama over Path sucking down contact lists from its iPhone users.
