The Zeki 7-inch tablet runs Android 4.0, houses a 1GHz AllWinner A10 single-core processor, and comes with 8GB of internal storage with microSD expansion.

It also includes both a full-size and a Mini-USB port, and a Mini-HDMI port, as well as built-in 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi. The screen has a resolution of 800x480 pixels with a front-facing VGA camera.

The tablet is currently difficult to find in stores and you may have better luck with the Amazon Kindle Fire.

Almost five months after posting a teaser video on Youtube for its G10 xs tablet, Archos is ready to launch its latest stab at the Android tablet market. A teaser image highlighting the tablet's thinness was posted on Archos Worldwide's Facebook page with a caption saying to look for the launch announcement in three weeks.

The G10 xs is rumored to run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and have microSD and Mini-HDMI connections. The tablet, which could be the thinnest tablet yet with a 7.6mm thickness, could rival the Asus Transformer Infinity with its similar keyboard dock accessory. The G10 xs appears to be aimed at the higher-end tablet market with its eye-catching design and already looks like an upgrade from Archos' most recent effort, the 101 G9 Turbo tablet.

Calling it a tablet may be a bit of a stretch, but that's the ad copy a Japanese company is using on a new 21.5-inch Android device.

"A 21.5-inch Android tablet comes to market!" -- is how Japan-based Kouziro is advertising a new touch panel display that runs Android 4.0 on top of a Texas Instruments OMAP dual-core 1GHZ processor.

Although the Toshiba Excite 10 has already been out since May, the rest of the family is due to be released in just a few days and they're all excited (ha! see what I did there?) to hit the market.

An "Alvin and the Chipmunks"-themed tablet just for kids? Sounds great, but the skeptic in me says it'll be underpowered and overpriced.

At $129.99, the Archos ChildPad definitely isn't overpriced, especially when you consider that "adult" tablets (like the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet) start at around $200.

As for power, one could argue that younger kids don't need much. But the ChildPad has decent specs, including a 1GHz ARM Cortex processor, 7-inch screen, front-facing camera, and Android 4.0.

In other words, it's more than adequately equipped for the likes of Angry Birds, educational apps, music, movies, and other kid-oriented stuff. One must wonder why Sony cannot get out of the habit of playing a fragmented and behind-the-curve Android release schedule for its devices.

Finally putting speculation to rest, a Sony representative confirmed with Crave today (and subsequently on Twitter) that Sony tablet owners in "all regions will have Android 4.0 by end of May." And on a related note, a Sony Japan statement announced a May 24 drop date for Android 4.0 landing on both Tablet S and Tablet P devices specifically in that country, perhaps a timeframe we should expect elsewhere.

Ematic entered the Android tablet fray yesterday when it announced the inexpensive eGlide Prism.

Priced as low as $157, the device runs Android 4.0 and features a 7-inch 800x480-pixel resolution display. Powered by a 1GHz processor, it also brings 8GB flash memory, 512MB RAM, and a front-facing Webcam. While it's certainly not the type of hardware to contend with a Galaxy Tab 2, it's in that interesting space between a Kindle Fire and a "real" tablet.

I typically cringe when I hear the word "value" associated with mobile tech -- Ematic proudly call themselves a "leader in value tablets" -- since the word conjures images of creaky plastic and poorly lit, low-resolution displays. Last week, Lenovo took to YouTube to unveil its first ICS-based tablet. The new tablet sports a 9.7-inch, IPS screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio and an iPad 2-matching resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. This obviously falls short of the new iPad's 2,048x1,536-pixel resolution and even most Android tablets, which usually top out at 1,280x800 pixels.

The S2109 includes Micro-USB, a microSD card slot, and a single 1.3-megapixel front camera. However, say what you will about its unibody design, 8.9mm thickness, or its purported 10-hour battery life; the most intriguing detail has to be its inclusion of quad speakers on the back.
