Using wind power, Audi aims for carbon-neutral motoring

- Audi plans to use wind power as a source of clean energy for its upcoming electric and natural gas vehicles. The combination of clean power and zero- and low-emissions vehicles is a first step by the manufacturer toward making its entire lineup carbon-neutral.

To make its carbon-neutral goal a reality, the carmaker is financing the construction of four wind turbines off the North Sea that will generate annually up to 53 GWh of electricity. Audi A1 E-tron to use Google Earth navigation

Audi is raising the bar for electric vehicle infotainment systems by offering the same telematics package in the European A1 E-tron that it delivers in its top-of-the-line A8 sedan.

The Audi A1 E-tron is a prototype plug-in that uses a 45-kilowatt electric motor powered by a 12-kilowatt battery to deliver a 31-mile range. For longer distances, a small gasoline engine generates electricity to recharge the battery and extends the urban EV's range another 125 miles. Audi fleet testing A1 e-tron city car

Audi started testing its fleet of A1 e-tron Mega City Vehicle (MCV) in Munich. The Audi A1 e-tron is a pint-size 102-hp extended range plug-in that has a 31-mile electric range and uses a small, single-rotor Wankel to recharge the lithium ion battery to provide additional range 125 miles of range. The estimated fuel economy according to the draft standard for extended range vehicles is 123 mpg, but they may have to recalculate that number like GM will for the Volt.
