Review: Moving Art features dozens of artistic films with deep social integration

The new Moving Art app from Louie Schwartzberg takes a series of videos of locations and landscapes and combines them into arresting imagery in video format. Displayed on the iPad's gorgeous retina display screen, the results are at times breathtaking, but can at times suffer from a lack of direction.

The result of Schwartzberg's work is an engaging but often slow and very large app that can be soothing but will certainly be best for a certain audience. Open the app after the long download process, and Moving Art gives you a number of videos to choose from. … Read more

Reviews: Things to Spot is a well-crafted hidden object game, fun for all ages

Things to Spot perfectly captures the mood and fancy of children in a way that makes it ideal for that age group. It provides an engaging, entertaining experience that is perfectly suited for children - from pre-school to upper elementary.

The goal of Things to Spot is to find and tap objects in a scene as they are shown. A card in the top-right corner will show an item and how many are on the screen. The player must then find and tap each of them to circle and call it out. Each scene is rich with detail, but not … Read more

New iPhone 5 ad celebrates Generation Me-Me-Me, La-La-La

If you don't have (white) headphones in your ears, what kind of human being are you?

How can you possibly even classify yourself as human if you don't have a thousand playlists and ensure that every step you take, someone is playing to you?

The modern world is about creating your own soundtrack, in order to navigate its troubling paths and irritate fellow travelers.

Yes, you might be hugging your lover, but you have to be wearing your headphones and so does he. Otherwise, this isn't love. It's just a passing fling, free of melody.

iPhone 5 repairs won't come cheap

It's happened to a lot of people -- their iPhone drops from their hands, falls off their lap, plunks into a toilet, or gets knocked off a table.

Showing off a cracked iPhone screen is sometimes almost a point of pride. I have one friend who lovingly calls his damaged phone "The Hurt Locker," referring to the 2008 movie about a bomb disposal team working during the Iraq War.

But, many of these damaged iPhones cease to work after going through various mishaps. That's when repairs come into play -- and, they're not cheap.

Currently, … Read more

The phone is also speculated to cost around $350 to $400.… Read more

Review: Create magazine-style photos with InstaMag - Magazine Collage

This app gives you the chance to be the star of a magazine--a really poor magazine, but a magazine nonetheless! InstaMag - Magazine Collage automatically organizes a few of your pictures into a spread, but it looks terrible. You won't want to share anything this collage app makes.

This app is designed to present your photos as if they were in a magazine spread. InstaMag - Magazine Collage only supports collages with four photos-- you can't have more or less. You can't move where the photos sit on the digital page, either. In fact, the only thing … Read more

Review: Deck out your phone with Beautiful Widgets Free

Beautiful Widgets Free has stunning, useful widgets that all conform to a sleek theme. However, the app locks most of its useful settings and options behind a paywall. It's not too expensive, but you might prefer a free alternative.

The free app lets you preview slimmed-down versions of the app's 12 different widgets. These include weather, battery life, and other settings displays. They certainly live up to the beautiful name, but most of the options to adjust them to fit your phone require a $3 upgrade. If you don't pay up, you can't do much outside … Read more

Review: Create drive backups and clones with Get Backup for Mac

Get Backup for Mac's well-designed menu and useful features make it a good tool for system and file backups. With more and more information stored on your computer, the need for utilities for backing up important information stored on systems has increased, and this app has some nice options.

Despite the fact that the program is freeware, additional functions are available if the user chooses to purchase a special license. Get Backup for Mac opened quickly after being dragged into the Applications folder. The program's main menu was appropriately designed with clear graphics indicating the main buttons.
