Custom Mustangs on Display at 2009 SEMA Show

Earlier this week, we took a quick glance at a few of the many production and concept cars making their debuts at the 2009 SEMA Show last week at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Well, today's video needs little explanation, simply because I don't have much extra information to give you. This Web clip shows off four nice customized Ford Mustangs that were exhibited at the most recent SEMA Show in Vegas, and really, this video is just a lot of nice eye candy for Mustang enthusiasts. Observe...

Putting a 2010 Camaro to the test

Wow. I write a piece a couple days ago about the 2010 and upcoming 2011 Chevrolet Camaro, and next thing I know a representative from Chevrolet communications is posting a comment to my blog. Yeah, it was regarding a discrepancy in the information relayed in the video blog, but to me that's still pretty cool. As this gentleman pointed out, there are custom car builders out there who are co-opting the Chevy Camaro make and putting out non-GM versions of the Camaro for the consumer who wants one done their way. Apparently, Hennessey Performance Engineering does just that, and … Read more

My Favorite Cars 5: A real-life Batmobile

All this week I've been dedicating my video blog to my dream cars--cars that I'd love to own but alas never have. If money were no object, I could reasonably own every car on this shortlist. However, there is one dream car that I could probably never, ever own and that's one of the most badass vehicles ever built...the Batmobile!

Now this isn't your parents' Batmobile. This is a specially built take on the modern interpretation of the Batmobile built by British entrepeneur Paul Garlick. He was apparently commissioned to make a replica of the … Read more

This Week: Rednecks and Their Cars

Last week my blog took a look at NFL players and their fancy, tricked-out rides. This week, I'm gonna go in the complete opposite direction and give this platform to that modern American creature - the "Redneck" - and their customized vehicles as only they can drive them.

To kick off what should be a fun week of video, I found this hilarious slide show video of redneck vehicle customizations, including my personal favorite, the "Redneck Spoiler". Crack open a can of PBR and enjoy!

Stay tuned this week for crazy redneck driving, racing and … Read more

Unique Auto Sports: Custom Cars for NFL Stars

It's no secret that a lot of NFL players choose to customize the whips they drive. Apparently, one company that many NFL stars choose to pimp their rides is Unique Auto Sports, a custom car company that even has its own TV show called "Unique Whips". These guys have delivered tricked-out rides to NFL players such as Jericho Cotchery and Larry Johnson, as well as other pop culture icons such as 50 Cent.

This vid gives you a hint of the type of work they do, as this web video depicts the delivery of a custom GMC … Read more

This Week: Cars of NFL Stars

I'd imagine that quite a few readers out there spent this last weekend checking out the 2009 NFL Draft, hoping for the best for each of your favorite NFL teams. So it seemed like a neat idea to dedicate this week's set of blogs to the fabulously tricked-out rides of NFL stars.

This vid was produced by the NFL network, checking out the bad-ass rides of a few NFL players. To say these cars have been customized is a severe understatement. Big Pat Williams of the Minnesota Vikings shows off his flashy Range Rover as modified by Automotive … Read more

Virtual-reality software to aid car customization

Many new car buyers face a similar dilemma: You want to customize a new car, but don't know if you'll like the maroon leather interior that looks great in the catalog but always seems too pimplike in person. Not wanting to make an expensive mistake, you go with the safe silver-and-black combo, just like everyone else.

Cater, a technology group funded by the European Commission, is working on software that could help shoppers customize with confidence.

Using virtual-reality technology, Cater is building a car customization application that helps customers picture more realistically, and spatially experience, what their configured … Read more

BMW M5 Truck?!?

We've all thought of some prohibitively expensive or impractical vehicle customization that would convert our daily driver into a dream car. For example, I've always wanted to convert my Acura RSX Type-S into a midengined, rear wheel drive sports coupe, but for the money, it'd be cheaper to just buy a Porsche Cayman S and be done with it. But what happens when there is nothing vehicle on the market that fits your dream? What if your dream car is an M-Powered pickup truck? Australian golfer Stuart Appleby found himself in this situation, so he built his … Read more
