Microsoft was quick to show the latest trailer and gameplay footage for Hideo Kojima's latest in the Metal Gear Solid universe. Rising lets players play as the sword-wielding Raiden and gives them ultimate control over where and what the lethal weapon slices.
Still, not a lot is known in terms of a release date and whether Rising will have a timed exclusivity deal with the Xbox 360.
Besides directly taking on the Wii with Kinect, how else can Microsoft hope to compete with Sony and Nintendo--not to mention Apple--this holiday season? With its big guns, literally.
Microsoft's focus at this year's E3 was, not surprisingly, on its biggest franchises. The company's boast was that the 360 is the only place to have these experiences--which all involved gunplay--although one, Call of Duty: Black Ops, is multiplatform.

Tetris has a very special place in my heart. As a child, my parents wouldn't buy my brothers and sister and I a Nintendo. They wanted us do "play outside" and "enjoy our youth" and "build character." We, of course, wanted to play Punch-Out!!!, Duck Hunt, and Metroid.

Our favorite U.K. car publication, "Top Gear," posts an excellent birthday tribute for YouTube. This collection of 20 automotive-oriented YouTube videos includes everything from amateur hoonery, professional race footage, stunts, and clips from "Top Gear's" own program.
We were held entranced for a good 10 minutes watching footage of crashes from Finnish rally car racing. Then there's Jeremy Clarkson getting his face reshaped in an Ariel Atom and a few loose wheels on racetracks.
The feature is a photogallery with quick descriptions and a link out to YouTube for each video.
While it has been fun watching Jeremy Clarkson of BBC's "Top Gear" fame test out fantastic rides for a thrill, I figured why not keep the fun going and bring on all the guys from "Top Gear"--Anthony Davidson and The Stig in this instance--as they try to figure out what the best car is for drifting.

On Wednesday, we had a snippet of Jeremy Clarkson (of BBC's "Top Gear") blazing through the Swiss Alps in a Maserati GT.
