Saab to unveil 9-4X at LA Auto Show

Saab released photos of its upcoming 9-4X crossover SUV that will be unveiled at the upcoming 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The third addition to the Saab line up is an inherited product from the old GM roadmap, but it's a much needed vehicle to cater to the growing crossover segment if the brand is going to survive. In the U.S., the 9-4X will be available with either an entry-level 265 horsepower 3-liter V-6 engine or, in the top-of-the-line Aero trim, a 300 horsepower 2.8-liter V-6 turbo engine. 2012 Nissan GT-R to debut at LA Auto Show

Nissan unveiled the GT-R in Japan with the announcement that the car would also be on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

Very few details were released regarding the GT-R, shown here in Aurora Flare Blue Pearl. The supercar, which has an expected base price of just over $100,000, also comes in Meteo Flake Black Pearl.

Do ISPs pay minorities to oppose Net neutrality?

The Los Angeles Times has raised questions about the financial relationship between some large telecommunications companies and influential minority groups.

According to the report, AT&T, Comcast and Verizon Communications have poured big money into the coffers of such groups as the League of United Latin American Citizens, the National Urban League, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

These groups just also happen to support the telecoms' anti-Net neutrality proposals. It's all a big coincidence says the telecoms and minority groups. No pay for play, they contend.

Toyota tweets six new hybrids, electric Rav4

Today Toyota Executive Vice President Takeshi Uchiyamada announced the company would launch six new hybrid vehicles by 2012. According to the company's Twitter feed, one of those vehicles will be a plug-in version of the Prius.

In addition, Toyota tweeted that it will show the Rav4-EV at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The Rav4-EV is an electric vehicle built in conjunction with Tesla as part of the two companies' recent partnership.

Toyota intends to market an electric vehicle in the U.S. in 2012.

Infiniti's first hybrid to debut in Los Angeles

Although few details have been released, Infiniti made pictures available of its long-rumored M hybrid sedan, which will be unveiled at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. The car enters production in 2011 as the 2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid.

The body style for the M35 Hybrid is the same as the new generation Infiniti M sedan, which we reviewed as the 2011 M56. With its graceful curves and interior appointments, the new M takes a step toward flagship sedan status, but still feels a bit small when compared to stalwarts such as the Audi A8 and Mercedes-Benz S-class.

CBS recently crossed into a new fan frontier with its first-ever booth and extensive presence at Comic-Con. For the uninitiated, Comic-Con is a wildly popular comic-book convention that's been drawing huge crowds for decades. Google, LA hit speed bumps on move to cloud

Google and the city of Los Angeles have hit a speed bump in the full implementation of Google Apps into the city's various departments, and the costs of a delay could top $100,000--for Google. Google had a June 30 deadline to get all of Los Angeles' city employees up and running on Google Apps, but that didn't happen, according to a MarketWatch report.

Toyota fired the first shot with its updated and redesigned Sienna minivan, revealed at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. When Honda unveiled its updated Odyssey last month, we couldn't help but note a few similarities between it and the Toyota.
