The app is free, but to actually listen to music, you need to pony up $10 per month. Unlike other music-streaming services, there's no free limited or ad-supported option. Beats Music for Windows Phone looks nearly identical to the other apps, and appears to come with all of the same features.

The big game is this coming weekend, and most Americans will tell you it's a lot more than just a football game. Many people make an event out of the game with parties, barbecues, and betting pools, even if their favorite team isn't in the running. My team lost a week ago, but you can bet I'll be watching just for the fanfare. Even the commercials shown during the game are an event in themselves with advertisers spending huge amounts of money for 30 second and one minute spots.

Feeling a bit of iPhone 5S envy? After all, that built-in fingerprint sensor is pretty cool.
Small wonder, then, that rumors point to a similar sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S5. But you don't have to wait for that phone or abandon your current one just to reap the benefits of biometric security. Now, there's an app for that.
ICE Unlock Fingerprint Secure adds camera-powered fingerprint scanning to your smartphone's lock screen. That's not quite the same thing as the iPhone's scanner, and it's not nearly as efficient -- but it does work. Sort … Read more

Hair, makeup, and gender-bending fashions aside, what singer/songwriter Boy George does best is write a prime pop tune. I'm thinking about chart-topping '80s singles like "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me," "Time (Clock of the Heart)," "I'll Tumble 4 Ya," "Church of the Poison Mind," "Karma Chameleon," "Miss Me Blind," "It's a Miracle," and "The War Song." His later, more dance-oriented solo material and DJ gigs won a club following.

The cold, hard walls between mobile native apps and HTML5 wobbled a bit on Tuesday morning, as Google announced that Chrome Apps will now work on the two most popular mobile platforms.
Chrome Apps are HTML5-based single-serving applications, more than just a mere Web site, that will work on Windows, Mac, and Chrome OS without having to open your browser first. However, because they're based in Chrome and can't function without it, they've been criticized for "breaking" the Web.
Google opened up a developer preview of the Apache Cordova "toolchain" for wrapping Chrome … Read more
The average smartphone user, according to market research firm Flurry, spends 2 hours and 38 minutes per day on their smartphone. We don't know how accurate this figure really is (it seems pretty excessive), but smartphone usage is on the rise.
But just how attached are we becoming to our phones, and what are we using them for? That's the focus of a new project by the University of Bonn in Germany. … Read more
