As we expected, May 1 did not bring a formal announcement of T-Mobile's anticipated 3G network. But according to RCR Wireless News, the long-waited launch will come next week. The magazine didn't cite any specific sources in its story, but it promised that in the next few days the carrier would reveal its 3G plans for New York City and beyond. Report: AT&T to sell 3G iPhone at $200 discount

AT&T plans to sell the 3G iPhone for $199 when it arrives in AT&T's stores in June, according to a report, in a sign that Apple may have given up on locked iPhones.

Fortune is reporting that you'll be able to buy a $199 iPhone in AT&T's stores, and only in AT&T's stores, when the new model arrives around the one-year anniversary of the iPhone launch. New iPhone back in black?

Apple might have decided to make a few cosmetic changes to the next-generation iPhone.

As Lawrence Peter might say, it's deja vu all over again as we await the arrival of the 3G iPhone. Engadget has the latest, claiming they've been in touch with a tester who says Apple plans to ditch the aluminum exterior in favor of a "glossy black" plastic-like material and, more significantly, add a GPS chip.

A technical glitch in an upcoming BlackBerry release will prevent an iPhone-Blackberry showdown in June, according to Fortune. AT&T will delay the launch of the BlackBerry 8900 from June to August after concerns about call quality, the magazine reported Thursday, citing unnamed sources. MTV trots out mobile phone in France

MTV is continuing to push its brand onto gadgets, though it seems to be more interested in Europe than anywhere else. A couple of weeks ago its logo showed up in an X-ray on a "multi-room box" distributed by U.K.-based Sky TV, and now it's coming out with a branded mobile phone in France.

There's nothing like a price cut announcement to set us tech journalists off like pro-Tibet protesters chasing a flaming baton. Thinner 3G iPhones planned for WWDC?

A tradition unlike any other: the 3G iPhone rumor on the Internet.

Today's rumor, courtesy of Daily Tech, actually has a fair amount of detail. According to what it heard from a little birdie, Apple plans to stick with the 8GB and 16GB options for the 3G iPhone, as well as the pricing for those models, and announce the new phones at the Worldwide Developers' Conference in early June.
