In the wake of Computex and today's Microsoft Surface announcements, June is turning out to be a hot month for new tablets.

And now it's Google's turn. The 7-inch Nexus tablet, jointly developed with Asus, will be unveiled at Google I/O, which starts on June 27, according to a report from Taipei-based Digitimes. An earlier rumor made a similar claim.

Whichever way you slice it, potential suitors of the 17-inch Pro suddenly find themselves looking for a new partner. Alas, here's what you'll soon discover: most 17-inch laptops on the Windows side are "gaming laptops," built clunky, bulky, and leaning toward power over battery life.

Google's long-rumored tablet, developed with help from Asus, is launching soon, according to a new report.

Android Authority is reporting today that it recently sat down with an "Asus representative" at Computex, who said that the co-branded Google tablet does, in fact, exist. What's more, the representative said that the Google tablet will launch at the end of June, seeming to indicate that the search giant's I/O conference could be home to the unveiling.

A pair of images hitting the Internet today have the Android community in a tizzy over the possible first photos of the fabled Nexus tablet. Initially posted on PhoneArena, the two pictures give a decent, albeit blurry, look at the rumored device.

The front side of the device photographed has a white face, while the rear side looks to have two colors, black up top and silver along the bottom. Given the position and orientation of the Google logo, the tablet looks to be designed for portrait mode as opposed to Android's more popular landscape mode.
