2011 Geneva auto show: 2012 VW Golf Cabriolet

The Golf cabriolet was just one of those semi-iconic cars. The along came the New Beetle and later the EOS and VW figured there was no place for the Golf Cab. Brian Cooley wonders what they were thinking as he takes you for a walk around the best looking, most appealing open VW of them all.

2011 Geneva auto show: Porsche Panamera S Hybrid

Turns out that Porsche made its first hybrid in 1900. This year, it adds its second modern hybrid with the Panamera S Hybrid. Brian Cooley finds it lifts the power train from the Cayenne Hybrid and should deliver miles per gallon in the 30s, which is a substantial improvement.

2011 Geneva auto show: Ferrari FF

Here's Ferrari's AWD four-passenger hatchback of sorts. The FF changes a lot of rules in Modena (but then again Ferrari is doing a lot of that these days with things like amusement parks in Abu Dhabi). Brian Cooley shows you around the startling new body and the impressive innards that move the FF.

2011 Geneva auto show: 2012 Mercedes C Class Coupe

More than just a two-door, long roof version of the C Class sedan, the new Coupe is positioned well upscale and echoes the former CLK. Brian Cooley finds it's a looker, and will usher in improved cabin tech for the lower end of the M-B line.

2011 Geneva auto show: Rolls Royce 102EX concept

It's almost hard to take this one seriously: An electric version of the Rolls Royce Phantom. Really? But it's fascinating to walk around if only because it stretches the idea of what we think an electric car is/can be. Brian Cooley decides he would just as soon live in the thing as drive it.

Nissan has spent a bundle developing the electric drive tech in the Leaf, so you know they'll use it in other cars. This may be one of the first new model to do so and perhaps gives us a look at the future electric Z.
