One has to feel bad even bringing up the derision that followed the Chrysler Sebring around. It wasn't *that* bad a car, but some mediocre cars just get ganged up on. Well, that's largely history now as the Sebring morphs into the 200 and still isn't a bad car. Brian Cooley takes you for a drive to check the tech.
The Toyota Prius, the Lexus CT 200h, and the Lexus HS 250h will be back in production in Japan on Monday, according to Toyota.
The Japanese automaker halted production after the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck the country on March 11.
Toyota has been issuing statements of daily updates regarding not only vehicle production in Japan, but also the shipping of parts to its North America plants.
The company today said in a statement that Prius production will be restarted at the company's Tsutsumi plant, while the Lexus CT 200h and HS 250h will resume production at Toyota … Read more
Apple's record sales and growth could continue for the next two years, pushing the company to becoming a $200 billion behemoth and eventually dwarfing the revenue of tech giants like IBM and Hewlett-Packard, according to one analyst.
That claim was made by Forrester Research's founder and CEO George Colony during an interview with Bloomberg earlier today. Colony suggested that the company's hardware successes with the iPad and iPhone had created a cycle where those same customers buy applications in the App Store, then continue to buy Apple's products to keep using the software.
But that ecosystem … Read more
Canon today disclosed prices for previously announced overhauls of its 500mm and 600mm supertelephoto lenses, but more unusually, announced a new 200-400mm model that will join the company's already large lens family.
Nikon and Canon, locked in fierce competition for professional photographers, often have similar lens models, but Nikon for years has offered a highly regarded and newly refurbished 200-400mm supertele zoom while Canon stuck with its increasingly elderly 100-400mm design. Now Canon is countering with the EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender l.4x.
Some of the nomenclature should look familiar: f/4L means a continuous maximum … Read more
The mercury reads 12 degrees outside, but it feels like minus 2 with the windchill. That's Fahrenheit--the numbers are depressingly lower in Celsius here in Canada. Still, when I hang Nokero's new N200 bulb on a tree, its solar cell recharges without a hitch.
First off, the Nokero bulbs are designed to replace homemade kerosene lamps, not standard bulbs. They're aimed at hundreds of millions of people in developing … Read more
Upset because you just bought a Verizon phone but now crave the new iPhone? The good news: Verizon will give you a $200 gift card if you swap your current phone for an iPhone. The bad news: You'll still need to pay the full retail price for the iPhone.
Nestled about halfway down on Verizon's iPhone FAQ is a reminder to customers still under contract that they can't upgrade to the iPhone at the promotional pricing, namely $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model. That means subscribers who don't want to wait … Read more
This is, however, not an issue with what Netgear announced today, the Powerline AV 200 Nano Adapter Kit (model XAVB2101). The company called it the "smallest 200Mbps power-line AV adapter currently available worldwide."
The kit includes two identical power-line adapters that are small enough to fit in your palm. When mounted on the wall socket, it's clear that the adapter won't be in the way if you want to use another socket nearby.
These adapters … Read more

Unlike the first two that will be available later this month, the ix4-200d Cloud Edition won't ship until March.
The ix4-200d Cloud Edition is very similar to its dual-bay brother but differentiates itself by offering more storage (up to 12TB); more RAID configurations (RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 5); and two Gigabit ports for more consistent performance during heavy loads.… Read more
LAS VEGAS--Netgear did it a while ago with the Powerline AV 200 Wireless-N Extender Kit, and now Trendnet has just joined the club. The networking vendor announced today its first HomePlug AV 200Mbps power-line Wireless-N access point, the TPL-310AP.
The full name of the product is the 200Mbps Powerline AV Wireless-N Access Point, and it's essentially a HomePlug AV power-line adapter that can also work as a 300Mbps Wireless-N access point at the far end of the power-line connection.
This is a single unit and therefore will work only in homes where a power-line connection exists. The device will … Read more
