New Flip mini camcorder spotted

It seems that Flip has a new mini camcorder up its sleeve, and it's been spotted at a Best Buy in the U.S. An anonymous source tipped Engadget with a picture he snapped at the electronics store, and the box shows the device with its name, Slide HD, above it. It's just a pity the picture of the videocam got blocked, though it is speculated that the new shooter will have a sliding mechanism.

No word on pricing and availability yet, though considering it's already in retail stores, we expect this camcorder to be announced soon. More images after the jump. … Read more

Presentations on the go

Keynote for iPad lets you create presentations using only a touch screen, your content, and a huge number of ways to present your ideas. Like the other iWork for iPad apps, Apple has made it easy to get started using Keynote with a Getting Started presentation that shows you how to use each of the program's features.

The touch screen interface is very intuitive, with slide navigation on the left side of the interface, and close-ups of the slides in your main working area. In the left navigation you can add, delete, duplicate or reorder slides all with a … Read more

Nokia announced two new slider handsets at its Finnish headquarters Tuesday. We don't know exactly which markers will get the phones first, but models include support for North American cellular networks.

The 6700 Slide is a variation of the previously announced Nokia 6700 classic. It comes in six bright colors: aluminum, pink, blue, red, lime, and purple. Its features include a 5-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, a speakerphone, messaging, a personal organizer, e-mail and chat, an FM radio, a music player, and Bluetooth. Set for a first quarter, 2010 release, the 6700 Slide should cost about $240.

Slideshow viewer

Slideboxx provides a set of tools for making quick and easy searches for PowerPoint slides. With its simple layout and fast results, this is a great program for those who frequently work with slideshows.

While Slideboxx features a professional-looking design, its interface proved less than intuitive to navigate, and we required a visit to the Help file. One other gripe we had with the interface is that it opens within your Internet browser, so you can't use it as a standalone application but must open another program instead. Fortunately, Slideboxx is a breeze to operate. We were able to … Read more

Boxing clever game

Sliding Block Puzzle does exactly what its name implies by mimicking a favorite childhood handheld game. Its simple graphics and relatively challenging gameplay make it a perfect choice for those looking for a brief brain-teaser or a bigger challenge.

In Sliding Block Puzzle, you click and drag tiles around to move a red square from a frame. We enjoyed the design of the program's interface, which is simple but with a clean, professional look. While the commonsense directions are straightforward enough that we didn't need any additional instructions, we were nevertheless disappointed to discover that the Help file … Read more

SingTel Singapore Grand Prix: A Preview in Pictures

In 2008, FIA Formula One World Championship reintroduced the Singapore Grand Prix to its legions of fans after years of inactivity. Despite this fact, the race that takes place at the scenic Marina Bay in Singapore has a history that dates back to the mid 1960s. In fact, a lot of the appeal of this particular F1 event is its course that runs around the picturesque Marina Bay area vicinity, and also because of its night race that takes place amid the bay's incredible visuals. And with that said, this is the very reason I have selected this particular … Read more

View PowerPoint slides more effectively in iPhone Mail

Apple recently released a support document that explains why Microsoft PowerPoint slides appear blank with a white background or fail to render properly in the iPhone and iPod Touch Mail app.

The problem is a caused when documents, which are subject to display size limitations, are converted to HTML Web pages before being displayed on the iPhone or iPod. Large images or multiple medium-size images used on a PowerPoint slide result in some not being visible in the converted content.

It is important to give the slides time to render before giving up, because some slides take longer to convert. … Read more

Intuitive slideshow maker

Wedding Album Maker Gold is an intuitive way to create custom slideshows and save them in a variety of formats. Although it's not the most sophisticated program we've ever seen, it's easy to use, and is a good choice for users that aren't too picky.

The program's interface is very intuitive, allowing us to create our first album in a matter of minutes. The program walks users through the process of selecting photos, adjusting transition effects, adding music, selecting a template and menu, and selecting the proper output format. The interface isn't particularly slick-looking, … Read more

Addictive puzzle game

We are longtime lovers of the original Snood, so we were excited to see this updated version with a new twist. The sleeker Snood Slide for Windows has a different objective but is still lots of fun.

Fans of the game Chuzzle will think that Snood Slide looks awfully familiar, and there are plenty of similarities. In Snood Slide, the pieces are arranged in grids with movable rows and columns. Users slide the rows and columns to align three or more of the same pieces, which then disappear and turn their spaces on the board gold. New pieces slide down … Read more

Race down a waterslide

Waterslide Extreme is a free arcade racing game sponsored by the British credit-card company Barclaycard, based on one of their TV commercials in which a waterslide weaves between the buildings of a city. You can choose a male or female avatar, with first- or third-person view, as you slide down nine separate levels, collecting power-ups and point-award … Read more
