Apple gets social in iTunes 10
The big news all over the tech world last week was Apple's annual music event in San Francisco. As expected, the company launched a major refresh to its iPod line and gave its multimedia jukebox behemoth iTunes an update. The software revved to version 10, but the changes were pretty minimal in the eyes of most. Along with an updated logo, Apple gave iTunes a social feature called Ping and the capability to rent TV shows for 99-cents a pop.

Syncing playlists
There are more-convenient ways of getting your iTunes playlists onto your BlackBerry than physically plugging in your USB cable and transferring songs in a block. For example, you could use a program like Music WithMe, which is actually a dual-part system composed of a desktop component that scans your iTunes library for playlists, and a BlackBerry app from which you can pick the songs to play.
Syncing took some time, as is to be expected, but the app could do with more helpful hints communicating the estimated time remaining in a sync and more importantly, when you've stopped syncing … Read more
Friday Poll: What will iTunes 10 bring?
This week, Apple dropped iTunes 9.2 on us. It includes syncing for iOS 4 and that new iPhone you may or may not have heard about. The new iPhone, of course, brings the possibility of even more new features coming soon, and those with a long memory will note that 9.2 was the final version of Mac OS before OS X (Mac OS version 10.0) landed in 2001.
All that got us wondering if iTunes 10 (iTunes X?) might be coming sooner rather than later. And that got us thinking about what iTunes 10 would include that … Read more
