Nvidia 'pro' graphics hook up with Apple Mac Pro

Nvidia aims to fortify the Mac Pro moniker with its own "Pro" graphics.

The Quadro FX 4800, packing 192 processing cores, targets professional graphics customers, including scientists, engineers, and designers.

The Mac card features a standard 3-pin stereo connector for 3D stereoscopic imaging, critical to many core professional Mac applications, Nvidia said.

Nvidia updates 'Quadro' line of graphics chips

Nvidia on Monday introduced a bevy of new top-line professional graphics chips.

Nvidia's new line of graphics processing units (GPUs) are targeted at scientific and engineering professionals--not the gaming crowd, which garners most of the media attention for Nvidia.

"Our mission with Quadro is to help customers solve the world's most challenging visual computing problems," Dan Vivoli, executive vice president of marketing at Nvidia, said in a statement.

Sony offers two new options for DVD on the go

Two portable DVD players also made their debut at the 2009 Sony line show. New for this year are the DVP-FX730 and DVP-FX930. The DVP-FX730 boasts a 7-inch LCD screen and 5 hours of battery life. Its screen is also covered in an antifingerprint texture, something we've yet to see on a portable player. Look for it on sale this month for around $130.
