Samsung, carriers to modify infringing devices, report says

Samsung is working to modify its products to ensure they don't get caught up in an injunction, a new report claims.

The Korea Times reported yesterday, citing sources, that it spoke with Samsung officials who said that the company is in talks with U.S. carriers, including Verizon Wireless, to determine the best way to modify designs across its Galaxy line. The products it plans to modify were cited as infringing in last week's landmark patent loss to Apple.

HTC has 'no intention' to settle with Apple, say reports

HTC's chairperson said that the company has no intention of settling with Apple, according to Asia-based reports.

The report appeared in Wednesday's Digitimes and other Asia-based publications, which cite comments from Cher Wang, chairperson of HTC.

HTC "has great skills in innovation and has the confidence to face legal lawsuits with Apple," the Digitimes report says, attributing those comments to Wang.

She also said that the $1 billion jury verdict against Samsung in the U.S. "does not mean the failure of the entire Google Android ecosystem."

Apple injunction hearing against Samsung phones set for Dec. 6

The next phase of the Apple-Samsung patent infringement saga has been scheduled for December 6.

That is the date on which Lucy Koh, the presiding judge in the closely-watched trial, will hear Apple's motion for an injunction against eight Samsung mobile phones, as well as the South Korean electronics giant's expected motion to have the jury's verdict set aside.

Apple had its day in a U.S. court with a jury awarding the company more than $1 billion in an overwhelming patent infringement victory over Samsung. Apple, Motorola strike licensing deal -- but only in Germany

Apple and Motorola Mobility are close to a licensing deal in Germany, thanks in part to the ruling of a local court.

Motorola, a unit of Google, disclosed late Monday that the company had reached a tentative agreement to license out its essential patents to Apple. Patent law blog Foss Patents was the first to discover the disclosure.

Apple-Samsung jury foreman recalls 'aha! moment'
