Sony files patent for EyePad

Sony is eyeing its own EyePad via a patent, but it's not a gadget designed to compete with Apple's popular tablet.

Instead, the Sony device would act as an input control for an entertainment console and could wind up as a controller for the current and upcoming version of the PlayStation.

Published last week by the European Patent Office, Sony's patent describes a wireless controller that looks like a small tablet with a touch-sensitive surface. Motion sensors would be able to detect the movement and position of the controller. The device could also sport a couple of … Read more

Sony's next PlayStation, which is expected to be unveiled tomorrow, will come loaded with a host of improvements, a new report claims.

The most anticipated tech of 2013

We're almost halfway through 2013, but it's still early innings in the tech ballgame.

The year has already seen the release of some amazing products -- the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 come to mind. But there's an even longer list of products that have been announced but not released. And that doesn't even include the rumored (but likely) products such as the next iPhone or Nexus tablet, or the more ephemeral "iWatch."

Since we originally created this list on February 8, we've dropped the products that have already been released -- … Read more
