It's the app game that won't go away. Angry Birds Space is still sitting pretty on the App Store's top paid apps chart, but how many times can you pull back a virtual slingshot before you start pining for something more?

Tiny Wings 2 flaps into the App Store

Last year, Andreas Illiger's Tiny Wings came out of nowhere to challenge the likes of Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja for App Store dominance.

Since then, legions of fans have been waiting for the inevitable sequel -- and their patience has finally paid off. Tiny Wings 2.0 ($0.99) has arrived, but it's not exactly a sequel. Instead, it's an expanded version of the original -- and a free update for those who already own it.

The core game remains the same. An adorable little bird slowly propels himself across the hills and valleys of the … Read more

Rovio's Angry Birds is still the top game in the mobile arena. But now, the company is trying something new.

The developer announced today that it has launched Amazing Alex for iOS and Android. Monday's top stories are about Windows, Twitter, iPhones, and flying pigs. You know, the usual tech talk:

If you have a friend that needs a fix, here's how to administer the cure.

Microsoft announced that Windows 8 will be available at the end of October. If … Read more

Get a bare-bones matching game in Angry Birds Matching

Lovers of Angry Birds might be excited to find Angry Birds Matching, a spin-off puzzle game. However, we can't say this program is much to get excited about. It's an extremely basic -- and not particularly interesting -- puzzle game that is only related to Angry Birds inasmuch as it's ripped off the game's characters. If you like Angry Birds, stick to the original, and if you like puzzle games, there are innumerable options out there that are both more fun and more challenging.

The format of Angry Birds Matching will be familiar to anyone who'… Read more

Get a mediocre puzzle game with Angry Birds Connect

First things first: If you're a fan of Angry Birds, don't get excited about Angry Birds Connect. This game has virtually nothing to do with the original Angry Birds, and we feel pretty certain that the creators of Angry Birds Connect simply ripped off the characters from Angry Birds and inserted them into what is otherwise a fairly generic puzzle game.

Angry Birds Connect reminds us a little bit of that old Windows tile puzzle, Taipei. The tiles aren't stacked as they are in Taipei, but are simply arranged in a hexagon-shaped grid; each has the face … Read more
