Samsung expects big things from even bigger Galaxy Note 2

Samsung is expecting pretty big things out of its next major release, the Galaxy Note 2.

Indeed, even after the 30 million Galaxy S3s and millions of iPhone 5 sales, Samsung believes it could still move 20 million units of its 5.5-inch Galaxy Note II. Speaking with reporters recently, Samsung head J.K. Shin advised that the Galaxy Note II could sell "three times faster" than the first iteration over its first few months.

To ensure the handset is a success, Samsung has partnered with no less than 260 wireless providers across 128 markets. Starting with today'… Read more

The Korea-based manufacturer announced today that it will kick off the 5.5-inch Android 4.1 Jelly Bean "phablet," a smartphone with tabletlike proportions, on the same five carriers that initially offered the Galaxy S3 this summer. Moreover, the smartphone will carry Samsung's 1.6 GHz Exynos processor.… Read more

Wake up, gamers, Darksiders II has saved your summer

I know I've used this tired cliche a few too many times, but the summer really does suck if you're a gamer. It used to be that the summer was reserved for indie titles on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network to rise to the top in, but in 2012 it's seemed that's not necessarily the case.

With just about a month to go before the industry begins to pick up again, Vigil Games' Darksiders II may just be the piece of software that saves your gaming summer. The follow-up to 2010's sleeper hit, Darksiders II delivers a lot of what I'd expect to see in a proper sequel.… Read more
