Nissan showed off its electric-powered concept vehicle at the 2008 New York auto show. Based on Nissan's existing Cube small car, currently sold in Japan, the Denki Cube concept uses an electric powertrain with lithium ion batteries.
Pushing its electric vehicle strategy, Nissan will unveil an electric car concept at the New York auto show. Beyond a one-off concept, this concept is the harbinger of Nissan's plans to push automotive technology forward with electric vehicles. Milestones of this strategy include the introduction of a new electric vehicle, based on the concept, to U.S. fleets in 2010. Nissan showed off some serious cabin tech innovations over the last couple of years, but leaves them out of the all-new 2008 Nissan Rogue. This entry-level car fits into the new crossover segment, and seems like a cut-rate version of Nissan's Murano. The cabin tech it does have mostly concerns the audio system and is well integrated with the car.

While most of the automotive press in Nissan's booth at the Los Angeles Auto Show were climbing over themselves to get a look at the GT-R supercar, we managed to snag some photos of the second-generation Nissan Murano, making its world debut here today. The updated crossover SUV gets some new sheet-metal styling in the form of more pronounced body lines and a refreshed front fascia. We've got to hand it to NEC and Nissan. As silly as we found the their SUV-inspired laptop, there's something admirably cheeky about their special edition that's supposed to match Nissan's March mini-car (aka the Micra in Japan), in all its striped insanity.
The pattern looks as if it was lifted from a drawer liner created by an overcaffienated interior designer of the '60s. It even comes with a slip cover made of the same material used for the car's seat upholstery, according to Digital World Tokyo.
