Mac OS 8 thought questions for the day

Why is it that you set the "Font for views" from the Edit menu's Preferences selection, but you select the System Font from the Appearance control panel?

Why is it that you adjust grid spacing of icons from the Edit menu's Preferences selection, but you select icon size from the View menu's View Options selection?

A reminder regarding what is stated on an Apple web page ( as covered here previously): ATM 4.0.2 is included as part of QuickDraw GX (Sorry for the error about this in this item as posted earlier today). You can get it via a Custom Install. The new ATM version also comes with the Acrobat 3.0.1 Reader, available online from Adobe.

Especially as I am contributing editor for MacUser, I cannot say I find this to be happy news, but here is the essential text taken from the story as posted on the Macworld web site:
