Stick a fork in it; day two of CTIA 2007 is done-zo. By this point, most of the big product and service announcements have already been made, but that doesn't mean the show's over people. No, no. There were still cell phones to be seen, accessories to be touched, and smart phones to be examined. At CTIA we caught a few other phones at the Sony Ericsson booth that aren't in our Sony Ericsson line show. The Sony Ericsson Z550 is a flip phone with a vertically oriented external display (quite the trend right now). It sports a flip phone design, a form factor the company is becoming more comfortable with, and is available in sterling black or pearl copper. The opening day of the CTIA show in Orlando was a little quieter than in past years but Crave still found plenty of new and note-worthy products on the show floor. Though the iPhone made only a brief appearance we caught glimpse of several new cell phones, smart phones and accessories.

And while the company hasn't announced any such new products at CTIA, it is showing its latest options in music phone speakers. In addition to its new Z750 HSDPA phone, Sony Ericsson yesterday announced a new addition to its powerful Walkman phone lineup. The W580 brings some smart styling to the company's Walkman phone line. Available in white or gray with orange accents, the W580 features a slider design, which is still a somewhat rare design for the company (the last slider Walkman phone we reviewed was the previous W850). Sony Ericsson's first tri-band HSDPA phone for the North America market seems to have some identity issues.

At first glance it's all about looks: it comes in pink and gray--er, Rose Pink and Phantom Grey--and has a nifty exterior display that's hidden until a call or text comes in.

But inside there's a lot of smart features, like push e-mail (it's Exchange ActiveSync enabled), live scrolling RSS feeds, and the ability to do broadband-speed uploads and downloads.

Apple and Sony reviving the 1970s on iTunes

Feathered hair and Gran Torinos are coming to iTunes.

Apple has cut a deal with Sony Pictures Television to sell episodes of classic TV shows like Starsky and Hutch and Charlie's Angels on the iTunes store. The shows will be available for the standard $1.99 alongside other Sony shows that haven't quite reached classic status just yet, including Til' Death and Rules of Engagement.

Neither of the modern film remakes of those two 1970s classics are available yet on the iTunes Store, depriving customers of making side-by-side comparisions of Cameron Diaz and Farrah Fawcett. While we won'… Read more
