In February 2010, Microsoft introduced Windows Phone 7 to the world. With the complete overhaul of its mobile operating system, Microsoft got the tech world excited about the OS again with its fresh user interface, added features, and promises of improved performance. We've had to wait a long time since then to see if Windows Phone 7 actually delivers everything it promises, but we finally got a chance to find out, and for the most part it does. There are certainly aspects that need to be fine-tuned and features that need to be added, but overall, Microsoft has created … Read more

Some Gamespot.com editors discovered that the Microsoft Xbox Kinect seems to have trouble recognizing darker skinned players. Plus, it pretty much requires you to have a big, giant house. So, you can see how we arrived at the obvious conclusion in our headline, there. Plus, why Hulu is, in fact, destroying the TV industry, and we're ok with that. And Facebook Beacon returns in the form of Deals. Clever, Facebook. Samsung sure seems to be padding AT&T's roster of messaging phones.
After announcing the eco-friendly Evergreen earlier this week, Samsung today unveils the Solstice II. Sold for just $29.99 on contract--just like the Evergreen--the Solstice II has a 3-inch touch-screen display that supports a 240x400-pixel resolution with 65,000 colors and features the Samsung TouchWiz 2.0 interface.
Other features include a 2-megapixel camera, 16GB expandable memory slot, and Vlingo voice commands. In addition, you'll see apps like AT&T Navigator, AT&T Music and Radio, and MobiTV.
The Solstice II updates Samsung'… Read more
It'll have that same slide-out QWERTY keyboard, plus a music player, stereo Bluetooth, and a 1.3-megapixel camera. It looks like a rebranded version of the Samsung Restore. Pricing is not yet available, but we'll let you know about it once we find out.
The Android rumor mill kicked into overdrive last week with chatter of a Nexus One follow-up. According to the latest dish, Samsung will be making what's been unofficially dubbed the "Nexus Two."
The first signs of the handset came October 26 when City A.M. claimed there would be a new Google-branded device out in time for the holidays. Then, a few days later, AndroidAndMe reported what could be the hardware specifications of the phone. Today, however, Samsung denied that such a phone is coming. So, realistically, what are we to expect? … Read more
Sprint took a break from a string of Android announcements today by unveiling its new Samsung M360. The midrange flip phone is available today for free with a two-year service contract and a $50 mail-in rebate.
Like last year's Samsung M330, the M630 doesn't go out of its way to impress. On the outside it has a simple flip phone design in royal blue. The external display supports 65,000 colors and the internal display has 260,000 colors. We approve of the standard 3.5mm headset jack.
It features messaging, a personal organizer, a speakerphone, speaker-independent voice … Read more
AT&T is getting a new quick texting phone on November 7, one that Samsung is pushing hard as an eco phone. The Samsung Evergreen is built from 70 percent recycled post-consumer materials, and its packaging is made from 80 percent recycled post-consumer paper. The packaging uses soy ink, and in lieu of a paper manual, the Evergreen comes with a CD. Eco ringtones and wallpaper round out the theme.
As for the specs, the Evergreen is a 3G-capable phone that features a 2.4-inch display and a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. There's also a 2-megapixel camera with … Read more

CNET did not review the Samsung HZ30W, but we did review the Samsung HZ35W, which is very similar.
The differences between the two are few and nothing related to image quality or performance. The higher-end HZ35W has built-in GPS for geotagging photos; a 3-inch, 614K-dot-resolution AMOLED display; and Samsung's Smart Auto scene-recognition mode is available for photos and video. The HZ30W does not have GPS, uses a 2.7-inch, 230K-dot-resolution LCD, and has Smart Auto for photos only.
Again, since the Samsung HZ30W's lens, image processor, and sensor are the same for the HZ35W, we expect the HZ30W'… Read more
