Apple TV set said to be coming in 2013

The newest in the long line of Apple TV set rumors is that indeed the device is on the way but most likely not until 2013.

The note goes on to note that Foxconn, which manufactures Apple products, has decided to invest in Sharp electronics, giving more credibility to the notion that an Apple TV set is in the works. According to Business Insider, Sharp will provide the panels for … Read more

Woz supports Mike Daisey's message and says you should too

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak said today that he loved Mike Daisey's show, believes his message is crucial, and said he spoke glowingly of Daisey to Steve Jobs before the Apple CEO died.

In an interview with CNET, Wozniak explained that the media misunderstands what Daisey and actors do. He added that after seeing Daisey's show in Berkeley, Calif., last year, he did not take away the impression that Daisey bore a grudge against Apple.

"I didn't get the sense that Mike was anti-Apple," Wozniak said. "I think he loves Apple's products and I … Read more

Another Apple launch, another line for Woz to stand in

It wouldn't be an Apple product launch without a Steve Wozniak sighting, would it?

"I have had an iPad with a low amount of memory and I will finally be able to put a lot more movies on my iPad because I'm getting one with the higher amount of memory," … Read more

Friday Poll: Concur with Woz's Android comments?

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak created a comment explosion over his recent remarks about certain advantages he sees with Android phones.

Woz isn't pitching his iPhone into the shrubbery, but he did talk to the Daily Beast about several Android features he feels trump the iPhone's offerings. GPS navigation, battery life, and voice commands all made the list.

The Android versus iPhone debate has been as emotional as the great over-versus-under toilet paper debate. Hearing an Apple icon praise the other side just stirs the pot up a little bit more.… Read more

Woz on Apple: 'I'm a little afraid'

Steve Wozniak gave an illuminating interview to TechCrunch today in which he expressed several heartfelt emotions--among them, fear.

Of course, Apple's surviving co-founder--who spoke while standing in line for an iPhone 4S in Los Gatos, Calif.--expressed his sadness at the passing of Steve Jobs. But Woz went on to say that without Jobs, Apple could easily lose its ability to transcend tech-industry tropes and directly address customer needs.

"I'm a little afraid," Woz said. "It needs one person--almost one person--one mind still in control."

Woz said he hoped that Apple wouldn't go … Read more

The 1971 article that inspired Steve Jobs

In 1971, Esquire's Ron Rosenbaum set out in search of a story about a small and little-known underground group of hackers who had figured out how to outwit Ma Bell to make free phone calls. It was the first article to publicize the antics of the (now legendary) "Captain Crunch," as well as the exploits of the phone phreakers, as they were called.

The piece was also notable in that it fired the imagination of one Steve Jobs, who, along with his partner Steve Wozniak, proceeded to build the so-called "blue boxes" used to make … Read more
