Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of two young people we've never met with a torrent of cheap tchotchkes. Yes, to celebrate the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Carphone Warehouse has announced a celebratory special-edition Royal Wedding Alcatel One Touch mobile phone.

As some are calling the blushing bride herself, the phone is common as muck. It's an Alcatel One Touch with a Union Jack on the front and the royal couple's initials and wedding date emblazoned on the back. The patriotic print is worth 15 of the groom's gran's English pounds, apparently, because the OT-209 costs just 1p normally--but buying that when you have the option of a royal version is treason or something.

The phone boasts a 1.5-inch screen for displaying royal-themed wallpaper. It also includes a ringtone of the Wedding March. It's a perfect gift for royal watchers, wedding fans, and simpering simpletons.

We don't normally dedicate entire episodes of The 404 Podcast to a single topic, but since Jeff's wedding only happens once in a lifetime (and because we've been talking about it for a year), today's show is all about Jeff and Stacie Bakalar's beautiful wedding this weekend!

Mark Licea, aka MTI, also joins us on today's episode to help us recount Saturday's event, and we can't gush enough about the perfection of the night: from the tear-jerking wedding ceremony under the chuppah to the handmade yarmulkes, the huge spread of Halloween candy, the '80s/'90s cover band Renegade, and the loving Bakalar/Davis extended family and friends, suffice it to say the night was an undisputed success.

As expected, we did shed a few tears during the wedding, so be sure to tune in to hear stories about that, in addition to more about the dances, the speeches, the food, and even a surprise call from Jeff's Dad, Sweet Lou Bakalar himself!

I have never risen to such heights, but I understand that when men decide they will propose marriage to their beloved, they try to make it memorable.

They wonder whether the ring should be buried in the creme brulee or the butterscotch pudding. They debate whether to go down on the left knee or the right. They agonize over whether the ring should be larger than two knuckles or three (especially in Texas).

However, a fine young Minnesotan called Chad Clay decided that his exquisite, lovely, wonderful flower of a girlfriend deserved something magical and revolutionary. Well, almost.

He created a fake iPhone ad (embedded below) and had it screened at the movie theater at which he and his life-partner had enjoyed their first movie together.

I go down on one knee to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, which revealed the intimate details of this moving proposal, made during a screening of "Going the Distance," a movie about a long-distance love that, well, goes.

The Press says that Chad's opening line to Vy Luong was one that I know many readers have turned to in a moment of passion: "Would you like to see my comic-book collection?"

From this tiny acorn, a tree of love grew.

According to Clay's own posting on YouTube, Luong had always wanted him to write a song for her, "a Top 40/Club type song." However, given that he doesn't possess George Michael's vocal cords, Clay allowed technology to hold his hand and his throat through the whole four-month process of creating his love song.
