Whether it's the dude showing off his abs or a co-worker inviting you to happy hour drinks at Dave and Busters, we all have friends on Facebook we wouldn't mind disappearing. Wave bye to these faux friends, because November 17 is National UnFriend Day, where everyone is invited to trim the friend fat...on Facebook, that is.

The creator of the new holiday is late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, who recently declared war on all Facebook friends you don't actually care about in "real life." Genuine friendships are sacred, according to Kimmel, and he thinks social networks like Facebook that let you "friend" anyone are cheapening the sentiment.

On the other hand, if you're curious to know who's unfriended YOU on Facebook, well...there's an app for that. It's called UnFriend Finder, and it's a new extension for the Firefox Web browser that tells you which of your friends are being unfaithful and exactly when the online break-up occurred. Just be sure to install it prior to November 17, because it won't retroactively show you ex-friends from the past.

Hopefully Natali Del Conte won't unfriend The 404, or else we wouldn't have opportunities like today to invite her on the show to tell us more technical details than we ever thought existed about diapers, including her 30-day cloth diaper challenge...don't feel left out if you don't have a kid, we're planning a similar diaper competition among ourselves.

According to an experimental study on 29 healthy male volunteers, varying the position of a laptop won't help the issue, although the conclusion does recommend a laptop pad and/or adjusting your seating stance to prevent long-term damage. We also enjoyed this article on the 15 signs you're an Internet weirdo, but mostly because almost all of them apply to The 404 in one host or another. For example, #10: You can't go five minutes without checking your e-mail obviously applies to Wilson, while #1 You play games more hours per week than you work at an actual job sounds like Jeff, and me? Well, it might be easier to read the list and guess which don't sound like something I'd do in the privacy of my own browser.

Browser development can be a risky place, even for a team of savvy, crowd-sourced enthusiasts. So it's no surprise that Mozilla calls their nightly Firefox build "Minefield." What is surprising is that, in general, today's version tended to be fairly stable.

The version I spent the day with, Firefox 3.7 alpha 6, offers multiple in-development improvements. Besides being built on the next version of Firefox's rendering engine Gecko, the current nightlies will eventually become Firefox 4, expected to be released later this year.

It's been pretty much one great thing after another for Steven Holcomb since winning the bobsled gold at the Vancouver Olympics. Well, at least until this week.

Holcomb, who is a big-time computer nerd and video gamer, discovered that his prized Xbox 360 and games had been stolen out of his car. And while the $4,000 worth of gear and games has him a little queasy, what really makes him sick are the hundreds of hours of saved games that he had on the console.

WHISTLER, B.C.--Steve Holcomb stood proud as he and his bobsled team were honored with the Americans' first gold medal in that sport in 62 years.

WHISTLER, B.C.--American bobsled pilot Steven Holcomb, a master of sport and computers, put his four-man bobsled in strong position to win gold in Vancouver.

After two of four runs, Holcomb's USA-1 team leads by 0.4 seconds over Canada-1 and 0.44 seconds over bobsled legend Andre Lange, who is trying to be the first man to twice win the two-man and four-man events at the same Olympics.

Holcomb, who is a computer science major and Microsoft Certified Professional, has the U.S. two runs away from ending a 62-year gold medal drought in bobsled.
