A good text editor is a must for people who edit formatted text files such as plists, html, and other code files. UPDATE: Workaround for iPhoto 8.1 sync issues with iTunes, iPhone

Several users are reporting difficulty syncing their iPhones to iPhoto '09 following the latest iPhoto update, 8.1. Users are experiencing the error code (-50).

Update: It appears as though the bug in iPhoto, which was causing iPhoto Albums to not show up properly in iTunes when attempting to sync photos to your iPhone or iPod touch, is due to corrupt data in iPhoto Slideshows following the iPhoto 8.1 update. Passwords not saving in keychain

Many times when you log into a network resource or access a system setting you will be prompted for a password, with the option to save the password in your keychain. This convenience allows you to access common items without needing to enter passwords every time you with to access those items; however, sometimes certain problems may prevent the system from properly retrieving the password.

Snow Leopard system requirements

Apple has announced Snow Leopard's availability, and have links to it from their website's home page. Since this announcement, there have been many inquiries about whether or not a certain system will run the new operating system.

The basic requirements for Snow Leopard are as follows:

An Apple computer with an Intel Processor 1GB of Memory (RAM) 5GB of hard drive space (Storage) DVD drive for installation

Apple releases iPod nano 4G 1.0.4 update

Apple has released a minor update to their iPod nano 4G, 1.0.4. The update, currently available for iPod nano 4G owners via iTunes, addresses a daylight savings time issue as well as other minor fixes.

Users should sync their iPod nano 4G with iTunes to receive the update. For more on the iPod nano, check out the iPod nano product pages on apple.com.

Apple to release Snow Leopard on Friday, August 28th

Apple will release the newest version of its Mac OS X operating system, 10.6 Snow Leopard, this Friday. Users can pre-order Snow Leopard online or wait to pick up the software on Friday in retail locations.

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard will release with support for Microsoft Exchange as well as several new enhancements to performance, and is available as a $29 upgrade for existing Mac OS X 10.5.x Leopard users. Snow Leopard is Apple's first operating system to be release as an Intel-only platform.

Faxing documents seems to be one of those antiquated technologies that is here to stay. Even with many digital alternatives available for sending and receiving documents, faxing refuses to be replaced and instead has kept up with current forms of communication, integrating into email and IP networking. Apple has released the latest update of their remote management software, Apple Remote Desktop, now version 3.3.

From the release notes for Apple Remote Desktop 3.3, the latest update provides:

Improves support for accessing client computers and task servers behind NAT (Network Address Translation) routers. Includes Task Server and Directory Server scanners, for finding client computers known by your task server and clients in computer groups on a directory server.
