Funnily enough, we were talking shop with some tech entrepreneurs on how businesses could survive these trying times when these geeks uttered the unthinkable--Hello Kitty.
Seems no one's immune to the charm of this pink-obsessed feline. Even these businessmen weren't discounting the power of the lipless one to snag them a different segment of the market demographic.
Coincidentally, Beck's just released the very beer for these guys to make a toast to on their idea. While it's not tech or a brew any macho male would be caught dead swigging in public, the occasion certainly … Read more
Brace yourself for a cute overload. Hello Kitty, purveyors of all things pink and pretty, now offers this ultrathin keyboard for your typing pleasure.
I probably wouldn't think this product worthy of a blog post if I didn't personally know a handful of adult women who will squeal with delight at the idea of hunting and pecking on Japan's favorite feline's face adorned across the white keys.
The keyboard is imprinted with Japanese QWERTY characters, but I'm sure you can reroute the 108 keys to work with the English alphabet.
Like all things Hello Kitty, … Read more
After months underground, during which time she released only a pixellated propaganda video, the felicitous feline has surfaced once again, bent on pursuing her plan for world domination. As evidence, I present to you the Hello Kitty Netbook.
Compared with most previous Hello Kitty laptops, the Hello Kitty C1's design is downright subdued, with the text "Hello Kitty" repeated across the lid and a single impression of the evil mastermind's image in one corner. Otherwise, the 2.6-pound mini laptop looks like nearly every other all-white Netbook.
Its specs are fairly typical as well: a 1.… Read more
Sometimes the line between virtual world and real world is blurry. It's been known that Chinese gold farmers make a real living out of the WoW gold. On Friday, Sanrio Digital, maker of the Hello Kitty Online game, for the first time turned the in-game food to real money for a good cause.
The company announced the conclusion of the first Hello Kitty Online charity event called "Food for Friends." The event was held in the final week of the Hello Kitty Online closed beta.
Players created and submitted 344,965 in-game food items. Based on the … Read more
Believe it or not, Kitty White (aka Hello Kitty), has been aging along with the rest of us, and Saturday marks her 34th birthday. Judging from her look, however, it seems the alternately much-loved and much-reviled feline icon hasn't really grown up much and is still an appropriate representation of childlike cuteness.
To help celebrate this occasion, Sanrio Digital has organized a week-long in-game celebration in the Hello Kitty Online massively multiplayer role-playing game. The event includes a series of quests and events, including an in-game guild contest that lets players convert online efforts into real cash donations for … Read more
If your kids start to show serious signs of loving New York and you don't know why, this might be the reason.
Sanrio Digital, maker of the Hello Kitty Online 3D virtual world that's currently in beta, announced Friday the game's largest in-game event: the building of New York City. Players of the Hello Kitty Online Founders' Beta can take part in a series of quests to collect and organize materials for the building of a new New York area that will appear in the next phase of the game--and will undoubtedly be far more pink than … Read more
It's all the things you Crave! In this week's installment of the Crave vodcast, me and my guest, Bonnie Cha, talk about Hello Kitty madness, a Zune night light that plays music, and a laptop case that doubles as a pillow...the Napbook!
This cat has no shame.
She continues to haunt us with her incessant need to reproduce every consumer item in existence with her likeness on it. Our mistrust of the advancing Kitty empire on Crave is well-known, but we haven't brought it up in a while. Friends, it's time.
The cat is now trying to green-wash her cheap plastic empire, calling this solar-powered cell phone recharger "eco-friendly." Well now, throwing "solar-powered" into the description certainly sounds environmentally friendly. But wait. Apparently it's good for about 500 charges, then you're supposed to throw … Read more
