Panasonic's FX700 puts full HD in your pocket

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX700 sounds like a camera created at a feature buffet. For starters, you got your bright f2.2, 24mm-equivalent ultrawide-angle lens with a 5x zoom, your 3-inch touch screen, and your 14-megapixel high-speed MOS sensor.

Next, throw in a full HD 1080p movie mode, recording in AVCHD at 30 frames per second at up to 17Mbps. Pair that with a full-resolution burst mode at 10 frames per second for up to 15 shots and a handheld low-light option for reduced blur and noise.

AT&T introduces the Sharp FX

AT&T just added the Sharp FX to its lineup today, and if it looks a lot like the Sidekick, it's because Sharp was also the manufacturer behind many of the latest Sidekick handsets. It has a touch screen plus a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, an MP3 player, a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1, the att.net HTML browser, instant messaging, e-mail, and social network support. It's also compatible with AT&T's cloud services like AT&T Address Book.

It's always nice when the highlight of a touch-screen camera isn't the LCD. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX75, for example, has a 3-inch touch-screen LCD, but the main attraction is really the lens: a compact ultrawide-angle 24-120mm-equivalent lens with a maximum aperture of f2.2 and a 5x zoom. The 14-megapixel ultracompact features the company's Sonic Speed AF system, too, for fast focusing and low shutter lag.

Infiniti's FX35 inches closer to driving itself

When we last crossed paths with Infiniti's FX-series of crossovers, it was behind the wheel of the mighty 2009 FX50S powered by a rip-snorting 5.0-liter V-8 and equipped with a bevvy of go-fast sport package goodies and high tech gizmos. Altec's Expressionist Plus PC speakers: decent sound, affordable price

Not everyone likes the idea of having PC speakers with a separate subwoofer. But the reality is that unless you step up to something like Audioengine's fairly large and pricey A5 bookshelf speakers, you tend to need a 2.1 system to deliver a richer, more bass-laden audio experience.

Could this be the world's heaviest drag race?

Having spent time behind the steering wheels of the BMW X6 M, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, the Infiniti FX50S, and the Range Rover Sport, I was fairly certain that I could predict the outcome of Autocar's drag race between the four sporty SUVs (is that a bit redundant?). And for the most part, I was right. I won't spoil the ending for you, but I can't help but to think that the outcome would be decidedly different and much more interesting if this race where held off-road! I mean, these are SUVs after all.
