We're not sure how wise it would be to entrust a $14.99 gadget with one's health, but that's the goal of the "Heart Rate Sanitarian Watch" from Giz Fever. To use the "Heart Frequency Check," according to the product description, one need only press a finger to one of the wristwatch's sensors; the same is true of the indelicately named "Fat Check" function. There's also an alarm to keep you from falling asleep on the treadmill.

'Metal Gear Solid IV' gets its own watch

Grand Theft Auto IV is a tough act to follow, to put it mildly, but that's not keeping Metal Gear Solid IV from trying--and one of its key tactics is a blitz of bundles and branded accessories that even include its own Bluetooth headset.

That makes sense, to a degree, but its marketing people might be reaching a bit with their latest offering, an MGS4 limited-edition watch. About 500 of these exclusive brushed-steel timepieces will go on sale in the U.K. market on Halloween, according to Tech Digest, for about $197.

Bubble 2.0 Watch: Aggregation site Brijit shuts down

Brijit.com, an aggregation site that summed online news stories and other content up in 100 words or fewer for quick consumption, has shut its doors.

The shutdown is ideally temporary, the site's management said Thursday, but a placeholder on the front page admitted that Brijit "is out of money and can no longer afford to bring you the world in 100 words."
