PSPs get their own handbags

Now that PSPs have discovered their inner diva, the multi-hued swans need to start accessorizing. So Sony wasted no time in commissioning a matching case/purse from designer Samantha Thavasa, whose handbags are second only to Louis Vuitton in many Japanese circles. (Dangling charms are sold separately, according to Techie Diva.) And what a surprise--one of the first colors is pink.

One dock for iPod, PSP, phones

Finally, something everyone can use. If you have a desk or counter lined with cradles and docks, consider these speakers from Brando that work with multiple types of devices, including iPods, PSPs and cell phones from Nokia and Sony Ericsson.

The speaker dock comes with various adapters that can be plugged in like attachments for a vacuum cleaner. One potential drawback is that only one device can be docked at a time. That could put a serious crimp in your ADHD-addled productivity.

PSP expands its wardrobe

We passed along a rumor awhile back about new PSP models, with stuff like a hard drive and flash memory, possibly being in the works. That still remains unclear, but we do know this: Sony is at least planning to expand the look of the gaming gadgets, if not change their guts, with new colors. Five of them, to be exact, including blue, silver and pink, according to Newlaunches. Maybe Sony, which has encountered some high-profile product delays, is just going to release new colors pending new releases.

Apparently there are two new models in the works, one with a hard drive and one with lots of Flash memory. The whispers appear to have originated at YouNewb, and Diggers are generally cynical. Is it believable? And if so, is a new PSP needed?

"PSP2" rumors and speculation have circulated for quite some time: CNET compiled a wishlist of desired features. And gaming blog … Read more

Leading them by the nose

Why would somebody of sound mind wait 36 hours on the street just to be first in line when a store opens its doors for business? "It's fun," Richard Roth told our very own sleep-deprived reporter David Becker, after being the first person in San Francisco to buy a Sony PlayStation Portable. Then again, you should consider the source. Four years earlier, Roth said, he also was first in line to buy a PS2. "It's my 15 minutes of fame. You don't get on CNN for putting in a preorder at GameStop."
