Acer's new 7-inch tablet features little to get excited about

LAS VEGAS--Acer today announced its new 7-inch tablet, the Iconia B1-A71. While the tablet will launch with a starting price of less than $150, the price is the tablet's most intriguing detail.

The tablet will ship with Android 4.1, houses a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, and a 7-inch, 1,024x600-pixel screen. It also features 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and supports Bluetooth 4.0.

There's also a microSD card slot, Micro-USB port and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

LAS VEGAS -- There's life yet to be found in the portable navigation market. Garmin has just pulled the wraps off of its new line of Nuvi GPS navigators at CES 2013. We were able to get a brief hands-on with what appears to be the best Garmin Nuvi models yet.

Before we get too carried away, the new Nuvi models largely behave like the old models, but there are a few new features that bear mentioning. Cricket to offer Kyocera Hydro, Alcatel Authority

LAS VEGAS--Small prepaid carrier Cricket Wireless announced today that it will carry the Kyocera Hydro, a waterproof midrange device, starting January 25.

Originally launched on Boost Mobile this past summer, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich handset has a 3.5-inch HVGA touch screen with a 480x320-pixel resolution, a 3.2-megapixel camera, and a microSD card slot.

Powering the phone is a 1GHz processor, and its 1,500mAh battery roughly translates to 8.4 hours of talk time.

D-Link's Gaming Router is, well, for hard-core gamers

LAS VEGAS--There might be a real solution to your online gaming at home after all, thanks to D-Link.

The networking vendor announced today at CES 2013 the first 802.11ac-based router designed specifically for gamers, which it aptly calls Gaming Router (model DGL-5500). In a way, this is the first major upgrade to the first router of this type, the DGL-4500 GamerLounge, that D-Link released more than four years ago.

And this seems an upgrade that's worth the wait.

LAS VEGAS--The Roku box will soon be able to double as a cable box for Time Warner Cable customers.

By April, the free TWC TV app will be added to Roku's increasingly robust app store. The app -- which is already available on iOS, Android, and PCs and Macs -- allows current Time Warner Cable subscribers to receive up to 300 live TV channels at no extra charge. Delphi and Verizon partner on car tracking, remote unlocking

LAS VEGAS--With a black box the size of a pack of playing cards plugged into a car's OBD2 port, Delphi gives owners a variety of control and information features, from tracking to remotely locking and unlocking the doors.
