A clean, well-lighted car

All you Hemingway wannabes out there no longer have to freeze in the winter in your old drafty Defender. New, improved versions, resembling Papa's old British jeep, are finally on the way.

Rumors of a Land Rover Defender returning to the North American market are true. The car will be back in 2007 as a 2008 model. Don't shake this snow globe too hard

We took an unofficial vow of temperance (not the alcohol kind) in blogging holiday-related items, but not for politically correct reasons. It's just that many of them are useless.

There are always exceptions, however, especially to any rules we half-heartingly make here at Crave, and this one from I4U News is one of them: a snow-globe USB mouse. Our only regret is that it's made by Thanko, a Japanese company that we find increasingly annoying because of its inane products.

But according to Mii Stor--which offers "a unique range of USB jewelry accessories" (ya think?)--a platinum "Ice" model is on the way with 350 diamonds totaling 5.8 carats. So start saving now.

Portable ice rink turns yard into hockey heaven

Unless the San Francisco Bay Area gets hit by an uncharacteristic chill this winter, we on the Left Coast will be locked out of enjoying this portable ice rink sold at Hammacher Schlemmer. But that doesn't mean our compatriots in colder climes can't get in on the fun of ice skating and hockey in the backyard.

The rink, which we spotted on Luxist, can be used when temperatures dip below 32 F and stay at freezing for two to three consecutive days. In case of a thaw or rain, the frame's locking system keeps water inside the … Read more
